Event log does not show triggered events when thresholds are exceeded

You are in: IBM i Technology Updates  > IBM Navigator for i > Enhancements list > System Monitors > Event log does not show triggered events when thresholds are exceeded

If you are having a problem with triggered events not showing up in the System Monitor event log (even when you can see cases where the threshold is exceeded), you may need to restart the Monitor job.  First end it with:

    CALL PGM(QSYSDIR/QINAVMNSRV) PARM(*STOP)

Then End and Restart the ADMIN2 server:

    ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*IAS) INSTANCE(ADMIN2)

    STRTCPSVR SERVER(*IAS) INSTANCE(ADMIN2)

This happens if a IBM Navigator PTF is installed without first stopping the Monitor job.
