Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent-7.2 FP6 (ITMfVE Downloadable version 7.2 FP7) (Released 23 April 2021)
The following enhancements were made.
- Added Prerequisite checker support to enable scanning of prerequisites before installation.
- A new attribute, Data center name in the storage pool attribute group.
- If the connection fails, the agent will continuously attempt connection to the data source without limit every 30 seconds. Such agent behavior remains even though the user removed the environment variable KV1_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT or set it to 0. To have a limited number of connection attempts, the environment variable KV1_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT must be set to a valid nonzero value.
- Help text is updated for all the attributes to know the source, whether an attribute is supported on RHEVM or KVM-Hypervisor.
- Removed dependency of ovirt-engine-sdk-java-3.6.8.0.jar.
- Agent JRE is upgraded to version: 1.8.0_241.
- Deprecated a few attributes from listed attribute groups:
- Host CPU
- CPUs Consumed Per VM
- CPU GHz Consumed Per VM
- Host Memory
- Memory allocated per VM
- Memory used per VM
- Host CPU

Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent-7.2 FP5 (ITMfVE Downloadable version 7.2 FP 6) (Released 11 May 2020)
For version 7.2.0.6 of the Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent, the following enhancements were made since version 7.2, including the Fix Packs:
- Linux KVM agent is upgraded to use Ovirt Java SDK 4.3. The agent can be upgraded from earlier release versions. In this release, the agent supports RHVM 4.0 and later versions. There is no compatibility with earlier versions of RHVM.
- The data provider is optimized to decrease the overall CPU consumption on the Ovirt engine.
- Agent JRE is upgraded to Java 8.
- The live snapshot support attribute is deprecated in the Hosts attribute group.
-
Retry count to limit the connection attempt with the data source:
If the connection fails, add a limit on number of retries the agent attempts to connect to the data source (RHVM/Hyper-V). The default for retry attempts is 6. This value can be changed by setting the following variable in the agent instance-specific environment file:
KV1_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT
After exhausting the limit of configured connection attempts, if the agent fails to connect to the data source, it will stop attempting to connect and log the following message in the data provider log:
NO MORE ATTEMPTS OF CONNECTION; STOPPING THE DATA COLLECTION, TO RESUME MONITORING PLEASE RESTART THE AGENT. TO HAVE MORE ATTEMPT OF CONNECTIONS, RESET THE VALUE OF THE VARIABLE KV1_DATA_PROVIDER_CONNECTION_RETRY_COUNT

APAR included: IJ28978
Abstract: SDA support for NetApp agent.
Description:
The NetApp agent is not defined as a self-describing agent, so it will not self-install its application support and the user needs to install it manually.

Interim Fix Packs (on Fix Central)
Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent v7.2 FP 3 - Interim Fix 7.2 Fix Pack 3 IF 1 (Released 20 January 2018)
The following problems were addressed in the fix.
- APAR: IJ03006
Abstract: V1 AGENT (Kernel-based virtual machines) support for RHEV-H 4.X.
Error description: Monitoring Agent for Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines 07.20.03.00 cannot establish a valid connection with the target RHEVM. This issue is related to the version of the ovirt-engine being connected. If the RHV Host is: RHEV-M 4.1 (RHEL 7.4-based OS). The current agent cannot connect to it because the connection URL changed from https://<hostname>:443/ to https://<hostname>/ovirt-engine/api. - APAR: IJ03125
Abstract: SDA support for V1 agent (Kernel-based virtual machines)
Error description: The current version of the V1 agent (7.20.03.00) does not support the SDA feature. Therefore, the IBM Tivoli Monitoring administrators need to manually install application support on all IBM Tivoli Monitoring servers to which the V1 agents connect.

Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent v7.2 - Interim Fix 7.2 IF 1 (Released 29 July 2016)
The following problems are addressed in the fix.
- Defects:
Abstract: Linux OS Agent v6.2.3 FP04 does not start when Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent v 7.2 FP03 is installed on the same server.
Additional Information: Linux OS Agent v6.2.3 FP04 used GSKit v7. Installation of Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent v 7.2 FP03 elevates it to GSKit v8. Thus Linux OS Agent stops working.
- Enhancements: All the new content that went into IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent, version 7.2 FP3 are included in this interim fix build, namely:
- New attribute groups
- KV1_CLUSTER
- KV1_DATA_CENTER
- KV1_DATA_CENTER_STORAGE
- KV1_HOST_NETWORKS
- KV1_VIRTUAL_MACHINE_DISK_PERF
- KV1_VIRTUAL_MACHINE_NETWORKS
