1.0 General description
=======================
This fix pack resolves the APARs and defects listed in the "Problems fixed" section.
This fix pack also includes the fixes in earlier releases.
2.0 Architecture and prerequisites
===========================

2.1 Prerequisites for this fix:

You can use ITMfVE 7.2 Fix Pack 9 to directly install latest agents or upgrade existing agent installations. 

If you plan to upgrade agents on Windows systems, then ensure that Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Agent Framework (KGL) component version 06.30.07.14 or higher is installed on the agent machine, for remote or local upgrade. 

The agents from following release versions can be upgraded: 
IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments: ITMfVE version 7.2.0.8 

Steps to check KGL component version: 
       1. Open command prompt and run kincinfo -t 
       2. Check the version of product with product code GL 

Steps to update KGL component: 
       1. Download and extract ITM 6.3 FP7 SP6 for Windows. You can download 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-Windows-SP0006.zip from Fix Central. 
       2. Run setup.exe from <extracted_directory>/bundles/WINDOWS/ 
       3. Check Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Agent Framework (KGL) from the list of features during installation. 

Note: This requirement is only for Windows systems. Agents on Linux systems can be upgraded directly. 

VMware VI, Linux KVM, or NetApp Storage agent: 
This fix pack can be installed as a stand-alone installation; OR 
This fix pack can be installed on top of the following release version: 
IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments: ITMfVE version 7.2.0.8 
Download IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments V7.2.0.9 package from IBM Passport Advantage website.

Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines Agent:
The following enhancements were made: 
VMware VI Agent:
The following enhancements were made: 
  • Added support for requesting hostnames of ESX servers instead of IP address in situations and event fields. For this you need to add the ESX server with the hostname in vCenter Server. Set the value of KVM_ESX_HOSTNAME_IN_EVENTS = Y in environment file for activating this feature.

  • You can request events and messages in a specific locale from the vCenter Server. To enable such a request, in the environment variable, set the following value:
    KVM_EVENTS_LOCALE = <supported_locale> where, <supported_locale> is the language code.  
    o  To check for supported locales in vCenter Server, complete the following steps: 
          Open https://<vcenter-ip>/mob/?moid=SessionManager in browser 
          Check messageLocaleList property 
  • Upgraded ITM SDK to version 6.3 FP7 SP13 
  • Upgraded Agent JRE to the version: 1.8.0_331.  
  • Added  Support for Windows Server 2022 SE and DE Operating Systems.

  • Known Limitations 
    • vCenter Server 6.0 and its earlier versions use TLSv1 and TLSv1.1 protocols for communications. However, the TLSv1 and TLSv1.1 protocols are disabled by default, by JRE for security reasons. Hence, the communication between the vCenter Server and the agent is hindered. To work around this issue, you must complete the following steps: 
      1. Navigate to the below directory 
                Linux 
                 <CANDLE_HOME>/JRE/lx8266/lib/security 
                Windows 
                 <CANDLE_HOME>\java\java80_x64\jre\lib\security
      2. Edit java.security file 
                 Search for "jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms" 
                 Remove TLSv1 and TLSv1.1 from the list 
NetApp Storage agent:
The following enhancements were made: 
  • The Agent is supported to Monitor the Active IQ Unified Manager 9.9
  • The Agent is supported to Monitor the Active IQ Unified Manager 9.10
  • The Agent is supported to Monitor the Active IQ Unified Manager 9.11
  • Upgraded ITM SDK to version 6.3 FP7 SP13 
  • Upgraded Agent JRE  to version: 1.8.0_331. 
  • Added  Support for Windows 2022 Server SE and DE Operating Systems.

4.0 Image directory contents
=======================
This fix image contains the following files:
ITMVE7.2.0.9_VMVIKVMNAS_AGTMP_EN.tar.gz (Fix archive .tar format)
Note: Contents in the .gz files are identical for both Windows™ and UNIX™ platforms.
The same installer works for the Windows™ and UNIX™ operating systems.
5.0 Installation instructions
======================
This fix can be installed on an existing installation. Use the following steps to install this fix.
5.1 Installing the fix
-------------------------

Before installing this fix, refer to section 2.1 entitled, 'Prerequisites for this fix'. 
For this readme file, <CANDLEHOME> is the IBM Tivoli Monitoring installation directory. 
The default value of CANDLEHOME is '/opt/IBM/ITM' on UNIX/LINUX systems and 'C:\IBM\ITM' on Windows systems. 

For Linux/Unix systems: 
                Run <extracted_directory>/ITMfVE_Agents/install.sh 

For Windows systems: 
                Run <extracted_directory>\ITMfVE_Agents\Windows\setup.exe

6.1 Installation instructions for agent "baroc" file

There are no updates to the "baroc" files included in this fix or any of the superseded fixes. No additional installation steps are required.
6.2 Verifying the update:

Note:
When the VMware VI agent update is successful, the agent version is: 07.30.05.00.
When the Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines agent update is successful, the agent version is: 07.20.08.00.
When the NetApp Storage agent update is successful, the agent version is: 07.30.04.00.
On UNIX™ or Linux systems:
To validate that all components are installed successfully, run the following command:
$CANDLE_HOME/bin/cinfo -i
For example:
