How To
Summary
One of the features of IBM Storage Insights is hassle-free log collection. With just a couple clicks, you can upload a log package from a monitored IBM block storage system to a new or existing support case.
Steps
Upload the storage system logs to an existing support case using either the Get support or Get logs action. The specific steps to upload the logs are different depending on whether the classic theme or new user experience is used. Steps are provided for both.
Classic theme
Select the Get support action by either right clicking a storage system in the Resources > Block storage systems table or by going to the Tickets tab in the Operations dashboard for a storage system
New user experience
Upload the storage system logs to an existing ticket from either the storage system views, Tickets, or by choosing Get support under the user icon in the upper right corner.
If navigating from the Inventory list for storage systems, choose the Get support action from the three dots on the far right of the storage system row or click the name of the storage stem to be taken to its details page and choose Get logs or Get support from the system actions.
Once the Get support dialog opens up, select Create ticket or Update ticket. A log package is uploaded with either option.
