Creating an Ontolection from a Generic XML Thesaurus

About this task

An ontolection is created like any other search collection, differing in the converters that are used to process the input file. To create a new search collection, Click the Add icon () beside the Search Collection entry in the Watson™ Explorer Engine administration tool's left-hand navigation bar.

For the purposes of this tutorial, enter the name ontolection-francis.

Procedure

  1. Click the down-arrow in the box beside Copy defaults from to show the options that are available.

    For this section of the tutorial, you will select generic-ontolection, as shown in Figure 1.

  2. Click Add.

    The new search collection displays, showing the Configuration tab's Crawling sub-tab.

Results

Note: You can set the format at the time the collection is created. Default settings that are applicable to the format are pre-configured. Additional information on default generic and WAND ontolections is available in Taxonomy or Thesaurus Formats.
