Managing Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT)
You can export and import data with Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) from your
Sterling
Order Management System master configuration to other environments. By exporting CDT from
your master configuration to other environments, you can quickly migrate database configurations
from the master configuration to the target environments.
Overview and guidelines for CDT
IBM Sterling Order Management System provides a Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) that enables you to migrate configuration data in cloud environments. This tool ensures data integrity and reduces the system downtime to transfer data and minimizing the effort needed to ensure accuracy.
Managing Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) on next-generation platform
You can export and import data with Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) from your Sterling Order Management System master configuration to other environments. By exporting CDT from your master configuration to other environments, you can quickly migrate database configurations from the master configuration to the target environments.
Managing Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) on legacy platform
You can export and import data with Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) from your Sterling Order Management System master configuration to other environments. By exporting CDT from your master configuration to other environments, you can quickly migrate database configurations from the master configuration to the target environments.
Transforming data by using CDT
Users with the Developer role can use CDT to automatically transform certain values in the source environment into target-appropriate values by specifying transformations in the CDT preferences XML section under the Configuration tab in the Self Service . These transformations are run on the source data before they are deployed into the target environment.
Deploying and ignoring selective records while using CDT
The data is imported completely when you use CDT to import data from source to target databases. You can use Ignore and AppendOnly modes to import the data according to your business needs. When you ignore certain tables, the ignored tables are not imported during the deployment. If you need to import the tables but ignore certain environment-specific records, such as PLT_PROPERTY
or YFS_COMMON_CODE
, you can ignore those specific values during the import by using the RecordFilter mode. The ignored values are not overridden in the target database.
