IBM-approved x86 servers for IBM 4765

The compatibility chart below shows which x86 servers and operating systems have been tested by IBM for the IBM 4765. For x86 servers, the IBM 4765 is ordered as an IBM Z® machine type-model 4765-001. The chart does not imply that the operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Updates or service packs equal to or higher within the same release family of the operating system are also supported. However, support for newer releases or versions are not supported unless specifically identified.

Notes:

  1. CCA Release 4.4 is required.
  2. Only the upper slot of each PCIe riser card is supported initially.
  3. Only PCIe riser card slots 2, 3, 6, and 7 are supported initially.
  4. Available beginning with CCA Release 4.4.55, all PCIe slots are supported when Rigolino is updated to Version 64AA. Use the Coprocessor Load Utility (CLU) microcode refresh (mr) command to update Rigolino.
  5. To identify slot number locations, please refer to the hardware manual for your x86 system.
  6. This server requires a 64-bit operating system. Running CCA on a 64-bit operating system requires a separately purchased add-on feature. See PCIeCC overview for details.
