A/B Testing workflow

Detailed workflow for completing the prerequisites, setting up and registering your channel for A/B testing, and creating and publishing an A/B test rule in Acoustic Personalization.

Step 1: Subscribe to Acoustic Personalization

  1. Log in to Acoustic Personalization.

Step 2: Complete the prerequisites

  1. For the system requirements, such as supported web browsers, see System requirements for Acoustic Personalization
  2. For the prerequisites, such as access privileges, see Prerequisites for Acoustic Personalization?

Step 3:  Set up your channel for personalization

  1. Ensure that the channel you want to personalize is either a Single-Page Application (SPA), a Multi-Page Application (MPA), or a simple HTML site (Native App) and your channel is configured with a tagging and analytics library.
  2. If the channel to be personalized is a dynamic website or a Single-Page Application (SPA), deploy the Online Engine from Artifactory. For more information, see Installing the Personalization Library
  3. Configure Acoustic Exchange and Acoustic Exchange Capture

    For more information, see Configuring Acoustic Exchange with Acoustic Personalization

  4. Configure the zones that you want to personalize in Acoustic Personalization. For more information, see Configuring the zones for personalization
  5. Ensure that the website has a rendering engine to render (display) the personalized content returned by Acoustic Personalization.

Step 4: Create and register a new channel

  1. Create a channel and configure your content management system (CMS).
  2. Register the zones.

Step 5: Access the Zones dashboard

Go to Action > View details to go to Zones dashboard.

Step 6: Access the Segments

Create segments to use it in your A/B test rules. For more information, see Managing the Segments

Step 7: Create and edit A/B test rule

  • Create an A/B test rule
  • Edit a draft A/B test rule.
  • Edit an on going A/B test rule.

Step 8: Publish an A/B test rule

You can publish the A/B test rule on your channel to determine the winning content.

Step 9: Stop, Resume an A/B test rule

After you create A/B test, you can:

  • You can stop the A/B test at any given time.
  • You can resume the stopped test later to continue testing and achieve the statistical significance.

Step 10: View performance details for your A/B test rule

  • You can monitor the effectiveness of your A/B test by using the performance details for your A/B test rule.
  • You can also export and save the performance details of your A/B test as a PDF file.

Step 11: Set winning content

After the A/B test rule completes, the winning content is determined by the Acoustic Personalization. You can also select the winning content manually and create a personalization rule using that.

Step 12: View the personalized content

After you publish the rule with the winning content, you can see the personalized content set in that rule.
