  4. Select Performance Metrics for this example to chain with TopN.
  5. In TopN report, choose devices. For example, Cairo and Los Angeles.
  6. You will see Performance Metrics takes the devices chosen in the TopN report as a resource to display the result for the timespan selected.
    TopN Chained to Performance Metrics
  7. Click Plus icon icon in TopN > Performance Metrics report. You can chain Performance Metrics to Alert Details, Alert Summary, Flow, Logs, Metadata, and Performance Metrics.
  8. Select Flow for this example to chain with TopN > Performance Metrics.
TopN Chained to Performance Metrics to Flow
  9. In this example, it shows that the selected resources do not have any mapped flows associated with it. If flows are mapped, it will yield results, if any, based on the resource selected.
  10. In addition to chaining TopN to Performance Metrics, you may simultaneously chain TopN to Alert Details, Alert Summary, Flow, Metadata, and TopN.

Please refer to the table below for the list of widgets and the widgets that it can chain to.

Important: The following widgets do not have the chaining capability.
  • Group Metrics
  • IPSLA
  • Logs

  • URL

Flow

  • Performance Metrics

Important: For chaining Flow to Performance Metrics,
  • if SevOne NMS version < 6.6.x, then from Flow Widget, you will need to enable Analyze > SPLIT > - Split results by - Interfaces
  • if SevOne NMS version >= 6.6.x, you will automatically get the results.
IMPORTANT: The device / object / indicators displayed in the chained Performance Metrics widget are limited to 10 unique flow devices / interfaces / directions associated with each row in the flow widget. The top 10 interfaces are sorted by the bandwidth metric and they must also be managed via SNMP (i.e., they should be mapped). This limit ensures report performance of the chaining workflow in large deployments.
