Metadata Widget
The Metadata widget provides sortable table view of custom data attributes derived from metadata sortable with alert status. Perform the steps below to configure settings for the Metadata widget.
Data
The Data tab enables you to select resources for which you want to view the metadata.
Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Data tab.
- Choose from one of the following to display the report based on the option chosen.
- Devices - includes column Device Name along with the options chosen in the Charts tab > under section COLUMN SELECTION.
- Device group - includes column Device Group Name along with the options chosen in the Charts tab > under section COLUMN SELECTION.
- Objects - includes columns Device Name and Object Name along with the options chosen in the Charts tab > under section COLUMN SELECTION.
- Object groups - includes columns Object Class and Object Group Name along with the options chosen in the Charts tab > under section COLUMN SELECTION.
- For datasource and resource type settings, please refer to section Select Widget Resources in Create.
- Click the Columns drop-down to choose one or more metadata attributes from the list to add to the report.
- In the Page size field, enter the number of results to display on each page. The page
size must be between 1 to 10,000. For example, if you enter 20, it will display 20 rows on each
page.Important: The total number of objects on all pages is limited to the SevOne NMS peer limit. By default, it is 1000 objects per peer.
- Click Run to generate a Metadata report based on the configuration.Note: Run button is only available when one or more fields are changed in the Data tab.

Linking
The Linking tab enables you to select a data element and link it to a related report or report template. Perform the following steps to add, delete, and edit links.
- Include report links allows report consumers to click on a data element such as, device name, and link it to the related report. Enable to include the report link that you configure. If you want to prevent the report link from being included, disable it. Continue with the steps below to configure report link(s).
- By default, Report Link <#> is enabled.If you wish to exclude the report link, disable Report Link <#>.
- Use the Clicking on drop-down to select a data item that you want to link with the report
or report template. Data items can be the display option and/or the columns chosen from the Data
tab. You can apply multiple reports/report templates to the selected data item. For example,
- Device Id
- Device Name
- Object Id
- Object Name
- SevOne.Auto Negotiation
- SevOne.Backplane Mac
- etc.
- Click the Links to report drop-down and select one or more reports or report templates to display when you click on the data item that you specified in the previous step.
- To remove the report link, click .
- To create additional report link(s), click .
Charts
The Charts tab enables you to define how you want to display the data.
Visualizations
The charts provide Table visualization only.
Table
The Table visualization displays the data as a table. Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the Table visualization.
- Select the Table visualization by clicking
- TABLE TITLE
- Enable Show title to enter the title name in the text field provided and display it in report. Else, disable it.
- Enable Show subtitle to enter the sub-title name in the text field provided and display it in the report. Else, disable it.
- TABLE VISUALIZATION
- Enable Allow column reordering to allow the columns that display in the report to be reordered. Else, disable it.
- Enable Allow showing/hiding columns to allow columns in the report to be hidden and unhidden. If you choose, you may disable it.
- Enable Display columns vertically to allow the columns to be displayed vertically.
- Enable Wrap cell contents to wrap long text in a data row so that all text displays. Disable it to display as much text as fits into the cell with ellipses to indicate there is more text.
- By enabling Show search bar, the search capability is available to perform a search in the table. Disable it if you do not want the search capability. If Show search bar is enabled, you may click to allow Search by column.
- Enable Hide status label to hide the label in the Status column of the report.
- COLUMN SELECTION
- Select the check boxes to display the selected fields as data columns in the table. The names in the second column are the names for the columns that appear in the report. You may modify the names in the second column to your choice. To search, type a few letters in the search box.

Show metadata for Object groups and select resource type Device groupImportant:Pagination controls, , are available only when the number of results displayed in the Metadata report exceed the Page size. For example, if the number of results to display are 175 and,- DataPage size = 20, then #Results/Page size
- Data tab > Page size = 200, then #Results/Page size = 175/200 = 0.875 which rounds to 1 page. Metadata report will contain all results in one page and Pagination controls will not be available.
