Installing Q Replication and SQL Replication Version 11.4 (Linux, UNIX, Windows)

To install Q Replication and SQL Replication Version 11.4, you install Db2® database 11.5 or 11.1 and then activate the replication software if necessary.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that your system meets installation, memory, and disk space requirements for all of the products and components that you want to install. For details, see Installation requirements for Db2 database products.
  • You must have a local administrator user account with the recommended user rights to perform the installation.

About this task

The Q Replication and SQL Replication functionality for Version 11.4 is contained in Db2 database 11.5 or 11.1. Q Replication requires you to activate the software but SQL Replication does not require activation. To use SQL Replication 11.4, install Db2 database 11.5 or 11.1. The following procedure explains how to install and activate Q Replication 11.4.

Procedure

  1. Download IBM® Data Replication Version 11.4 from IBM Passport Advantage® at http://www.ibm.com/software/howtobuy/passportadvantage/pao_customers.htm.

  2. Db2 Standard Edition 11.5 and Db2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition 11.1 are included in the IDR 11.4 package. Use the Db2 installer to install Db2.
  3. From the root folder of the installation DVD or downloaded files, locate the IBM Data Replication Version 11.4 activation kit. The file name is IS_DataRep_11_4_Activtn_ProdDoc.tar.gz on Linux® and UNIX and IS_DataRep_11_4_Activtn_ProdDoc.zip on Windows.
  4. Untar or unzip the activation kit file, locate the license key under Db2_11.5\iidr.lic, and then issue the following command:
    db2licm -a iidr.lic
