New features and changes in 2.3.6

VMware support in 2.3.6

In this release, the following VMware support is included:

  • VMware vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS) 8.0.3.
  • VMware vCenter appliance 8.0 update 3e (8.0.3e).
  • VMware vSphere API 8.0 U1.
  • VMware ESXi 80U3d on compute nodes.
  • VMware ESXi 8.0 update 3d (8.0.3d) on Platform System Manager (PSM) management nodes.
Platform System Manager (PSM) Java version update in 2.3.6

In the Cloud Pak System Version 2.3.6, the Platform System Manager (PSM) Java is updated to 8.0.8.35 for improved performance and security.

Service Console OS upgrade in 2.3.6

In the Cloud Pak System Version 2.3.6, the underlying OS for the Service Console is upgraded to RHEL 8.10, ensuring enhanced stability and support.

IBM SAN Switch support in 2.3.6

IBM SAN Switch FOS v9.2.1b is supported in IBM Cloud Pak System 2.3.6 release.

IBM TOR Switch support in 2.3.6

IBM TOR Switch SN2410(Cumulus Linux 5.11.0) is supported in IBM Cloud Pak System 2.3.6 release.

Support for Cloud Paks® Docker Private Registry pattern type

This release supports Cloud Paks® Docker Private Registry pattern type 1.0.15.8 in IBM Cloud Pak System. The Docker Engine version support is 25.0.5.

IBM Db2 Standard Edition (PSM) Version support in 2.3.6

IBM Db2® Standard Edition(PSM) V11.5.9.0 (special_43682 along with IBM DB2 OEM High Capacity Feature on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.10 and 9.4.

IBM Db2 with BLU Acceleration® Pattern version update in 2.3.6

IBM Db2 with BLU Acceleration Pattern type 1.2.24.0 supports IBM Db2 advanced edition V11.5.9.0 (special 47198) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.10 and 9.4.

Db2 updates
  • For IBM Cloud Pak System Software suite offerings, the Db2 advanced edition license is provided with the Db2 pattern type. The Db2 pattern type file name is changed in this release. The new file name is now db2-1.2.24.0-sws.tgz.
  • For IBM Cloud Pak System and IBM Cloud Pak System Software offerings, the Db2 advanced edition license is not available. Bring your own license (BYOL) and provide it during deployments and upgrade scenarios. For more information, see IBM Db2 with BLU Acceleration Pattern for virtual systems.

Version updates for IBM OS Image for Red Hat Linux Systems in 2.3.6

IBM OS Image for Red Hat Linux Systems 8.10 (4.0.5.0) and 9.4 (5.0.1.0) is supported in this release of IBM Cloud Pak System.

IBM Java™ SDK/JRE version update support in 2.3.6

IBM Java SDK/JRE 8.0–8.30 is supported in this release of IBM Cloud Pak System.

IBM WebSphere Application Server version support in 2.3.6

IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0.5.22 and 8.5.5.27 is supported in this release of IBM Cloud Pak System. Also, the supported IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty fix pack is 24.0.0.12
