System maintenance and integrated components in IBM Cloud Pak System Version 2.3.6

This document describes the system maintenance and integrated components that are available for use with IBM® Cloud Pak System Version 2.3.6 on the relevant Generation 4 systems. The upgrade recommendation is to move to Version 2.3.6 for these systems. Unless indicated otherwise, the information applies to these systems:

IBM® Cloud Pak System Version 2.3.6:
W4600 (MT9568-CVM)
Note: W3500 (MT8558) went End-of-Life in September 2024, and W3550 (MT8564) went End-of-Life in June 2024.

System maintenance
Version 2.3.6 includes updates for the system's platform components. Version 2.3.4 must be installed on Generation 4 systems before you can install Version 2.3.6. After the upgrade is complete, you can upgrade the virtual images and virtual patterns.

The following table lists the virtual images and virtual patterns that are supported by Version 2.3.6.

IBM Foundation Pattern

The Virtual System Pattern Type (vsys-pattern-1.0.28.1) is also included.

Downloading fixes from Fix Central
Download system maintenance and updates to virtual images from Fix Central as described in the following steps:

1. From the Select product tab, select the following options and click Continue:

  • Product Group: Platform System
  • Select from Platform System: Cloud Pak System
  • Installed Version: 2.3.6 on Generation 4 systems
  • Platform: All

2. Confirm that the Browse for fixes option is selected and click Continue.
3. Download the fixes and updates you want to apply to your system by clicking the name of each file.
