Removing a display panel and cable from the NED24 NVMe expansion drawer
To remove a display panel and cable from the NED24 NVMe expansion drawer, complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
- Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
- To open the fan access door, lift the D-rings on top of the expansion
drawer, and turn them in a counterclockwise direction.

Remove all the fans. To remove a fan, press in at the grip locations and lift the fan from the
expansion drawer. The physical location codes for fans are Un-P3-A1 through Un-P3-A6.
Place the fans on an appropriate ESD surface.

Remove the fan cage screws.
- Remove the two screws that secure the fan cage to the left side of the chassis.
- Remove the two screws that secure the fan cage to the right side of the chassis.
- Remove the two screws that secure the fan cage to the bottom of the chassis.

- Lift the fan cage out of the expansion drawer.

Remove the fan access door.
- Remove the screw that secures the fan access door to the left side of the chassis.
- Remove the screw that secures the fan access door to the right side of the chassis.
- Remove the screw that secures the fan access cover to the top of the chassis.
- Slide the fan access door toward the front of the expansion drawer.
- Lift the fan access door off the top of the chassis.

- To remove the display panel housing, grasp the
housing and pull it away from the chassis.

- Remove the display panel and cable. Keep track of
the screw lengths and locations.
- Remove the two screws that secure the display panel to the side of the chassis.
- Disconnect the display panel cable from the connector at physical location code Un-P3-T1 on the midplane.

- Place the display panel and cable on an appropriate ESD surface.
