Replacing a display panel and cable in the NED24 NVMe expansion drawer
To replace a display panel and cable in the NED24 NVMe expansion drawer, complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
- Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
- Replace the display panel and cable.
- Tighten the two screws that secure the display panel to the side of the chassis.
- Pass the display panel cable through the chassis.
- Reconnect the display panel cable to the connector at physical location code Un-P3-T1 on the midplane.

- To install the display panel housing, grasp the housing and snap it into place on the
side of the chassis.

Install the fan access door.
- Lower the fan access door on to the top of the chassis.
- Slide the fan access door toward the rear of the expansion drawer.
- Tighten the screw that secures the fan access door to the top of the chassis.
- Tighten the screw that secures the fan access door to the right side of the chassis.
- Tighten the screw that secures the fan access door to the left side of the chassis.

Lower the fan cage into the expansion drawer.

Install the fan cage screws.
- Tighten the two screws that secure the fan cage to the bottom of the chassis.
- Tighten the two screws that secure the fan cage to the right side of the chassis.
- Tighten the two screws that secure the fan cage to the left side of the chassis.

Install all the fans. To install a fan, lower the fan into the expansion drawer and align the
fan with the pins. Press the fan down until it is fully seated.

- Complete the following steps to close the fan access door.
- Close the fan access door.
- Lift the D-rings on top of the expansion drawer, turn them in a clockwise direction, and then push the D-rings downward to the fan access door. Ensure that the fan access door is closed.
