Navigation documentation for IBM Support Insights
General navigation
Upon landing at the homepage of IBM Support Insights, all users see the Inventory management page. In order to navigate to a different section of the application, move the mouse to the left-hand side of the screen, which opens a sidebar with all the IBM Support Insights sections. The items in the sidebar menu are all clickable.
Please note, the Open source CVE analysis item is visible to all users, but the page itself is only accessible for Pro clients.
Additionally, SoftwareXcel clients will see an additional page option - IBM Link data for SWXcel - that is only visible and accessible to them and is located immediately after Documents and before Links.
Header buttons
The header displayed on every page of the application contains several links and can be used for the following actions:
- The application's name is displayed on the far left-side of the header and when clicked - it serves as a Home button. If you are on any page of the app and wish to return to its homepage - the Inventory management page - you can do so by clicking on the application's name.
- Immediately after the application name, on its right-hand side, is the Client selection dropdown menu. If you have access to more than one client - this is where you can choose which one to view at a given moment.
- Following is the Change requests button - here you can see requests to make modifications to the client's inventory. Please note, not all users have access to this page, as outlined in the user roles section.
- Afterwards is the Global filters button icon - you can use it to apply application-wide filtering on your view.
- Next is the Administration button icon - please note, only users with the required admin level of access can see this icon, as outlined in the Administration page.
- The Help menu icon button is also located in the header, immediately after the Administration icon button. When you click on the Help icon, a dropdown menu will be displayed with several useful links.
- Afterwards is the User menu icon button, which when clicked will display the user's name, followed by a link to the Notification subscriptions page and a Logout option.
- And lastly on the header row you have the AI button, specifically highlighted in blue, which serves to initiate a chat with SI's artificial intelligence AskSI. Once you click on the button, a chat pop-up will appear, which can also be expanded to a full-screen view.
Switching between accounts
Users with access to multiple client accounts may use the dropdown in the header in order to select clients and switch between clients.
