Checklist for getting started

Refer to the option-based checklist to quickly get started with Wazi Analyze.

As a web-based application that is pre-installed and delivered in a container running on Linux®, Wazi Analyze is available as the following options:
  • An IBM Wazi for Dev Spaces stack in the OpenShift Container Platform environment
  • A stand-alone container that can be run using Docker or Podman

1

Install and configure Wazi for Dev Spaces.

Wazi Analyze is available on IBM Wazi for Dev Spaces. For more information about how to install and configure Wazi for Dev Spaces, see the following checklist.
2

Create a workspace.

After Wazi for Dev Spaces is deployed to an OpenShift® cluster, create a workspace. For more information, see Creating a workspace by using Wazi for Dev Spaces.

3

Optional: Configure a workspace.

You can further configure the workspace if necessary. For more information, see Configuring your workspace.
Note: This step is optional. You do not need to configure any additional tools to use Wazi Analyze.
4

Clone the source files.

Make the source files available to the workspace from the Git repository. For more information, see Adding a Git repository into a workspace.

5

Prepare the project configuration file for scan options.

In preparation for the scanning process, you need to prepare the project configuration file (.dat) in your workspace. For more information, see Adding a project configuration file into a workspace.

6

Configure Wazi for Dev Spaces tasks.

After the source files are loaded into the workspace, you can modify pre-configured tasks for your project. For more information, see Configuring Wazi for Dev Spaces tasks for a new project.

7

Run Wazi for Dev Spaces tasks to start using Wazi Analyze.

After you modify Wazi for Dev Spaces tasks for your project, you can run the following tasks:
  • Initialize a project: After you load the source files for the first time, you can use this task to create a new project in Wazi Analyze, scan the source files, and start the Wazi Analyze server.
  • Re-scan source files: After you initialize a project, you can use this task to re-scan the source files when changes are made to the source files.
  • Shut down the Wazi Analyze server: You can use this task to shut down the Wazi Analyze server.
For more information, see Running Wazi for Dev Spaces tasks for Wazi Analyze.
