Deployment options and considerations

All environments have their specific benefits but require some consideration.

The Red Hat® OpenShift® binaries that are used for installation are the same for every deployment. Red Hat delivers a single binary only, which is used for installation. Therefore, those environments are fully compatible with each other and can be mixed if needed. There are differences in the provided system parameters and how Red Hat OpenShift is supported. Support for Red Hat OpenShift on LPAR, z/VM®, RHEL KVM, and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization is provided by Red Hat. Support for Red Hat OpenShift on IBM® zCX is provided by IBM.

The deployment environment you choose affects system management and the skills required to set up and maintain the system.
