IBM zCX

IBM® z/OS Container Extensions (IBM zCX) is a part of the IBM z/OS operating system and allows to spin-up RHOCP clusters. The benefit is that the clusters are close to the z/OS resources and the zCX guests are managed within the z/OS environment. There is no difference for the guest's management compared to other services hosted on z/OS. RHOCP on IBM zCX is shipped and supported by IBM. The binaries are the same as for the other platforms.

Resource sharing

Resources are shared according to the underlying management for z/OS.

Cluster HA/DR

IBM zCX is based on all z/OS mechanisms. z/OS has specific features that help to enhance the HA/DR capabilities.
