In a world of hybrid retail and fast-paced shopping, shopping can no longer be divided into online or offline experiences. Most customers now engage in a hybrid approach, where a single shopping experience involves both in-store and digital touch points.

In addition to offering great products, consistent experiences across digital and physical channels and orchestration of that experience in real time is essential. The modernized IBM® Sterling Store Engagement next-generation application with a robust, multipurpose UI empowers your store associates and managers with the right information at the right time; from customer service to store fulfillment activities. The Sterling Store Engagement next-generation application comes with capabilities, such as customer service, order fulfillment, and inventory actions across cloud, container, and on‑premise deployments. The application provides cross-sell and up-sell recommendations and helps to standardize processes for inventory and task management. The application also enables flexible fulfillment options, such as wish lists, curbside pickup, buy online and pickup in store, ship from store, and manage returns across channels.

The Sterling Store Engagement next-generation application is available as a software as a service (SaaS) and traditional on premises offering. The on-premises offering is available on containers and through traditional installation.

If Store Inventory Management is enabled, you can use Sterling Store Engagement to monitor and manage inventory by providing access to the real-time inventory information across store locations. You can use Sterling Store Engagement to receive shipments, deposit inventory in dedicated locations, and adjust SKU-based and serial-tracked products, move inventory across locations within a store, and transfer inventory to another store. You can also count inventory and record discrepancies either periodically or when needed.

Note: The Store Inventory Management capability is available only as a software as a service (SaaS) offering.
