Uninstalling a single version of a monitor model

Uninstalling a single version of a monitor model removes only the specified version of the monitor model application. Any version of a monitor model can be removed at any time; there is no sequential dependency. To completely remove a model, all versions of the model must be uninstalled.

Before you begin

Before you begin this task, you must log in to the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console.

About this task

Complete the following steps to remove a monitor model:
Note: If you want to remove all versions of a monitor model, see Uninstalling all versions of a monitor model.

Procedure

  1. From the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, click Applications > Monitor Models.
  2. In the Select column, select the check box next to the applicable model.
  3. Click Stop.
  4. Optional: If you want to delete the schema (the data for dashboard reporting) during undeployment, perform the following steps. Be aware that if you delete the schema when uninstalling a monitor model version, that version is completely purged from the repository.
    1. In the Version column, click the appropriate version.
    2. Click Manage Schema > Run script to delete the schema during uninstallation > OK.
Note: If the application server is running in development mode, the schema is always deleted when you undeploy a version. Therefore, the Run script to delete the schema during uninstallation check box will be disabled. This check box is also disabled if the database is DB2® z/OS®. In this case, the delete schema script must be exported and run manually.
  5. Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere Enterprise Applications. All the deployed applications are displayed.
  6. In the Select column, select the check box next to the version of the monitor model you want to uninstall.
  7. Click Uninstall.
  8. To confirm the uninstallation, click OK, or click Cancel to cancel the uninstallation.
  9. Click Save.

Results

If you did not delete the schema during this procedure, the data collected by the uninstalled monitor model version is still visible to dashboard reporting. The monitor model version information is still listed on the Monitor Models page, but the Application column displays a status of Uninstalled. If you want to remove the data from the dashboard, use the Manage Schema page to delete the monitor model version schema, and then purge the model version from the repository.

You must delete the schema before you redeploy the same monitor model version. To remove the schema, see "Purging a monitor model version." If you deploy a new version of the monitor model, you do not have to delete the schema for the previous version.

If any problems occur when the model version is uninstalled, you see an Undeployment Error link in the Deployment column of the Monitor Models page. Click the link to display information about the error.
