Enabling Mobile Threat Defense Professional service

Information about enabling Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) is in the IBM® MaaS360® Portal.

Before you begin

You must be a MaaS360 primary administrator and enable the Mobile Threat Defense - Professional service in the IBM MaaS360 Portal to access the IBM MaaS360 Mobile Threat Defense portal.

About this task

With MaaS360, you can enable this service to prevent, detect, and monitor threats on iOS and Android devices.

Attention: The MTD offering is available for non-federal customers only. This offering is not available to federal customers until FedRAMP approval is obtained for the required services.
Important:
  • Make sure that the primary Administrator is set in the IBM MaaS360 Portal account to receive the welcome email to access the IBM MaaS360 MTD portal.
  • Make sure that the Primary Administrator email address must be allowed to receive the Welcome email from any SMTP servers.

Procedure

  1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal Home page, go to Setup > Services.
  2. Go to Endpoint Security and select Mobile Threat Defense - Professional.
  3. On the Enable Mobile Threat Defense - Professional window, click Enable.
    Important:
    • When Mobile Threat Defense - Professional service is enabled, MaaS360 automatically enables Threat Management and User Risk Management services as well.

    • MaaS360 automatically adds the MasS360 MTD App for iOS and Android in the MaaS360 portal App Catalog page. (IBM MaaS360 portal Home page, Apps > App Catalog).
    A new welcome email notification is sent to the email ID associated with the MaaS360 portal primary administrator to complete registration.
  4. Open the welcome email notification and click Confirm. IBM MaaS360 MTDportal page is displayed.
  5. Enter a new password in the Password and Confirm password fields and then click Set Password. It automatically redirects to the IBM MaaS360 MTD portal login page.
  6. Enter the email ID and newly created password in the Email and Password fields, and then click Sign In. The MaaS360 MTD Home page is displayed with default dashboards.
