To enable the Endpoint Threat Management offering, follow the steps.
  1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, go to Setup > Services > Endpoint Security.
  2. Select the following services.
    Service Description
Threat Management IBM MaaS360 enables endpoint security for the prevention, detection, monitoring, and remediation of threats on iOS, Android, and Windows devices. Endpoint security protects mobile devices and laptops against malware, email and SMS phishing (within MaaS360 containers), and excessive app permissions. It also includes all the features the User Risk Management offers.
Note: When this service is enabled,
    • IBM MaaS360 automatically enables a User Risk Management service.
    • IBM MaaS360 automatically creates the default Endpoint Security policy in Security > Policies.
User Risk Management IBM MaaS360 enhances the security of your deployment by identifying and monitoring potential security risks, including jailbreak, SIM change, and OS version compliance.

IBM MaaS360 uses its next generation analytics engine to identify risk incidents and assigns a risk score based on the severity of the risk incident. These events are aggregated at a user level to identify the most risky users in your organization.

Note: When this service is enabled,
    • MaaS360 identifies the risk incidents, provides real-time insights on the threat activity and security posture of your organization in the Security > Dashboard.
    • MaaS360 creates new risk rules where you can define which incidents are considered risky in the Security > Risk Rule Configurator.
