IBM MaaS360 Mobile Threat Defense Professional

Information about components and workflow in IBM® MaaS360® Mobile Threat Defense Professional.

Attention: MaaS360 Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) Professional is available only with IBM MaaS360 Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) environment and cannot be used with other UEM products. To activate the service on the mobile devices used by your organization, you must initiate the activation process from the IBM MaaS360 UEM environment.

Use IBM MaaS360 Mobile Threat Defense Professional to prevent, detect, and monitor threats on iOS and Android devices. It protects devices against man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack, device-wide phishing, malware, spyware, and provides application protection plus threat hunting and complete customization of endpoint security policies.

MTD Professional consists of three components:

  • IBM MaaS360 Portal
  • IBM MaaS360 MTD portal
  • MaaS360 MTD App (client application)

Enabling IBM MaaS360 MTD Professional service through IBM MaaS360 Portal

Administrators can easily activate IBM MaaS360 MTD service directly from the service page and seamlessly integrate IBM MaaS360 MTD functions into IBM MaaS360. For more information, see Enabling Mobile Threat Defense Professional service.

Important: When IBM MaaS360 MTD service is enabled, the MaaS360 MTD app is available on App Catalog page in the IBM MaaS360 Portal. To align with the organizational security policies for control and security, administrators can set up App Configuration for the apps on iOS and Android devices.

Establish a connection between the IBM MaaS360 portal and the IBM MaaS360 MTD portal

MaaS360 administrators can log in to IBM MaaS360 Portal and configure the Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) to integrate with IBM MaaS360. For more information, see Integrating IBM MaaS360 with Mobile Threat Defense.
