RFx

An electronic document that is created by a buyer and contains items for purchase and/or questionnaires related to a procurement activity is called an RFx. In Emptoris Sourcing, it could also be a type of auction or a survey.

An RFx also includes configuration information (type of RFx, opening and closing times), item information (description, required quantity, expected delivery date), attachments and messages.

RFx Types

RFx Workflow

RFx Calendar
The RFx calendar displays RFx(s) based on the date of opening. There are three views; daily, weekly, and monthly. You can also sort the RFx(s) by RFx type.
Searching RFx
You can search an RFx from the Emptoris Sourcing header bar or from the Manage RFx(s) page.
Creating an RFx
You can create an RFx using either the User Interface or Import template method.
RFx Creation Process
Creating Residual RFx
You can create residual RFx to create a new RFx for items that were not awarded in an RFx after running award scenarios. The residual RFx can only be created after the original RFx is closed.
Creating Reverse Auction from an RFP or RFQ
You can create reverse auction from an RFP or RFQ instead of creating a new RFx.
Creating RFx from the Import Template
You can create an RFx from the import template. The import template is provided to users at the time of installation. If you do not have access to the template, please contact your system administrator or the Emptoris customer representative.
RFx Templates
Simple RFx Home Page
The Simple RFx Home page contains a list of RFx(s) in the application. You can filter the RFx(s) by their status and on clicking a particular RFx, a quick overview of the RFx is displayed on the same page.

Analysis Overview
After suppliers have placed bids you can use this feature to evaluate bids on various factors such as pricing, single sourcing, quality, and delivery. This feature is applicable to RFPs, RFQs, and English reverse auctions.
Scenario Creation Overview
You can create scenarios for RFQs, RFPs, and auctions.
Awarding Overview
In Emptoris Sourcing, awarding is the decision to accept a bid for RFPs, RFQs, and auctions.
