Using forms to edit objects and attributes

You can create forms that include specified attributes that you want to edit. You can also include read-only attributes that contain reference information. You can save forms and open them from the module at any time.

Before you begin

Create a form.
  1. In the module window, click Tools > Forms > New Form.
  2. Type a name for the form and select the attributes that you want to include in the form.
  3. Click Create View to create a module view that shows the attributes that you have selected.
  4. Click OK to create the form.

You can change the form at any time by clicking Tools > Forms > Edit Forms in the module window.

About this task

You must have modify access to the attribute values to edit them. You cannot edit attribute values that have been set to display as read only on the form.

Procedure

  1. In the module window, click Tools > Forms > Run Forms.
  2. Select the form you want to view and click OK to open it.
    You see the attribute values of the current object.
  3. If you do not want to be prompted to save your changes each time you move to a different object, select Automatically copy changes to module.
  4. Click Previous, Next and Go To to view and edit different objects in the module.
  5. Click OK to save your changes and close the form.

What to do next

To delete a form, click Tools > Forms > Delete Form. Select the form that you want to delete, and click OK.
