Attention: If you upgraded to Cloud Pak for Business Automation 24.0.1-IF002 before the 22 May 2025 and the CP4BA cluster service version (CSV) is 24.1.2, then reapply the refreshed 24.0.1-IF002 interim fix to resolve a known issue with Business Automation Workflow. For more information, see the Flash alert. Use the following command to check the CSV:
oc get csv | grep cp4a-operator

For more information about reapplying the interim fix, see Scenario 10 in the 24.0.1-IF002 readme. A successful refresh of IF002 shows that the CSV is 24.1.3.

If you plan to upgrade to IF002 after the 22 May 2025, follow the steps in the 24.0.1-IF002 readme. After a successful upgrade to IF002, the CSV is 24.1.3.

The Cloud Pak for Business Automation download document External link opens a new window or tab provides pointers on how to install the new version and the command to clone the 24.0.1 cert-kubernetes repository. The following changes are introduced in 24.0.1.

User-based license metrics for Content services

You can now track your CP4BA deployments that include FileNet® Content Manager based on user-focused license agreements. Previously, the sc_deployment_fncm_license parameter had valid values of production, non-production, and user. However when you chose user, IBM® License Service did not capture the user activity. In 24.0.1, you can now choose to set the value of this parameter to concurrent-user or authorized-user, and the metrics of the users are shown in the IBM License Service.

The user license type that you choose affects the measurement ratio that is used to determine the licensing cost. New information Learn more...

Take advantage of a new script to setup an air-gap (offline) configuration

Instead of configuring an offline environment on a Bastion host manually, you can now run a script. New information Learn more...

The new cp4a-airgap-mirroring-images.sh script does the following jobs:
  • Downloads the Cloud Pak for Business Automation CASE files.
  • Generates the mirror manifests that are needed for the mirroring process.
  • Mirrors the images from the IBM entitled registry to a private registry.
  • Logs all the output from each ibm-pak command.

Upgrade

The following support is provided in 24.0.1.

Upgrade from Cloud Pak for Business Automation 24.0.0

You can upgrade your Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) 24.0.0 production deployments to 24.0.1.

For earlier versions than 24.0.0, you must upgrade them to 24.0.0 or an interim fix of 24.0.0 before you upgrade to 24.0.1. New information Learn more...

Upgrade to the newest interim fix is always supported when it becomes available

Interim fixes are code updates to resolve security vulnerabilities. An interim fix readme file lists all the defects that are fixed and provides pointers on how to install it and how to upgrade to it. For more information, see the Cloud Pak for Business Automation download document External link opens a new window or tab.

The following change is introduced in December 2024.

New GPG public key to help verify the integrity of container images

From December 2024, a new private key is used to sign the Cloud Pak for Business Automation container images before they are pushed to the IBM entitled registry. You can check that the images you pull from this registry are authentic and can be trusted by using the GNU Privacy Guard (GPG) public key. New information Learn more...
