Pinned topic Retry Backend

‏2012-09-06T21:53:22Z |
Hi,

I have scenario where I should retry the back end if the connection fails for 3 times in certain inetrvals. I know that the results action has this facility to retry in certain intervals - but I couldnt succeed.
I have tried the following: I have on error action action within Error rule with continue mode and a processing policy with results action set to back end destination and no.of retries=3 with in 1000 msec interval

I am unable to acheive retry - can anyone please advise if I am doing something wrong

Thanks

    a couple of ideas:
first; the results action retry only works for a sidecall with an output context; not for a backend call.
second; the retry only works under certain errors; such as a tcp connection failure; i think for a HTTP 500 response code the retry does not apply.
based on those parameter you could get the retry to work for a results action; or you coul do this in a stylesheet

Could you please elaborate more on this ? If the results action happens to be the last action in the rule before backend, doesn't the retry mechanism work ?
