Pinned topic X3650 ServRaid 8K controller will not add new drive to raid 5 array -

i have a servraid 8k controller on a x3650 7979 - i had a defunct drive,
I removed the drive and added a new one - it is ready but will not go online to be a member of the raid 5 array.
this is the arcconf getconfig print out below - does anyone know how to bring it online ???

    You have to make the old drive offline using the MegaRAID Storage Manager software before removing it from the system. I spoke with one of the IBM techs before swapping out a failing drive in an x3650.

    You have to make the old drive offline using the MegaRAID Storage Manager software before removing it from the system. I spoke with one of the IBM techs before swapping out a failing drive in an x3650.
    Mega RAID storage manager is not supported in X-3650 (7979) server and you need to install serveRaid manager to operating system and make replaced disk as a hot spare. it will be rebuilding automatically and logical drive will come okay once rebuild completes.
