Lately we have encountered a number of cases where ILMT/BFI User Interface is showing "OUTDATED VERSION" and "OUTDATED CATALOG VERSION" messages in the UI widgets and they are very confusing, since - in some cases - the latest version are already in place.
So I would like to inform you that we are working on a fix for each of these errors and they have been recorded on below APARs (Authorized Program Analysis Report).
The APARs are still opened, as we are testing and gathering data to provide the fix for them, so I would recommend to enter on APAR's page from below link/s and subscribe to these APARs in order to be informed about the fix delivery or other changes/provided workarounds.
APAR IV84405: CONFUSING "OUTDATED VERSION" MESSAGE IN ILMT UI - "DEPLOYMENT HEALTH" DASHBOARD
The "Outdated Version" message/listing in ILMT UI dashboard
titled "Deployment Health" is confusing.
The widget in question checks for the latest BigFix version
that can be installed while customer's impression might be that
all the endpoints are up to date because are already aligned
with BigFix server version currently used.
This message should be reworked/removed or at least documented.
The Outdated catalog version can be misleading as well for the BFI environments where the version of catalog is calculated from both IBM catalog and custom catalog version. For the "outdated catalog version", please see the APAR IV84175, as per below link.
APAR IV84175: HOW TO CONFIRM OUTDATED CATALOG BFI/SUA SCAN HEALTH
Customer had "0" in most of "Catalog Custom Content
Version" column entries, while the latest catalog custom
content version is 131.
On that list, customer has one machine that has 131 but at
the same time it has old Catalog version (the IBM part).
Customers need to read the Outdated Catalog Version as the
logical expression on those two columns:
"Catalog Version" and "Catalog Custom Content Version"
If one of them is outdated than the overall expression will be
evaluated also as Outdated Catalog.
This APAR is to update the doc to be more clear in this area.
