|Now DAMO is not exactly new as it has been around for over a year. I enjoy using this product just as much as the IBM Lotus Notes client or even the IBM Workplace Rich Client. IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook is a way to use Microsoft Outlook to access messaging features on a IBM Lotus Domino server. From what I can tell, about 95% of the features that I use in the Notes client is also available in the DAMO client.|
Lately there has been great reading material on DAMO and I wanted to share.
Microsoft Outlook 2003 vs. IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook 6.5.3
You can also find fellow blogger Alan Lepofsky's webcast: Are you getting the most out of your Domino investment? that covers IBM Lotus Domino and the extended products.
Lisa Chase, who is part of the engineering team for DAMO authored the article: Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook and the Domino Migration Tool.
John Bergland and Rav Dhaliwal, fellow colleagues that I worked with on the Lotus Domino 6.5.1 and Extended Products Integration Guide Redbook also authored the IBM Redpaper on Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook.
Previously, I stated that only about 95% of the features I utilize in the Notes client currently exist in the DAMO client. What the DAMO client doesn't provide is IM awareness with an IBM Lotus Instant Messaging server. Not to fear, because an IBM Business Partner called Instant Technologies has a product/solution to my problem called Instant TeamMessenger. Currently Instant Technologies is offering companies purchasing Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook can receive 100 free Licenses of the Instant TeamMessenger.
