To add conceptual search to an existing project, first open the refinement-project that you created in the Watson™ Explorer Engine Refinement Tutorial. To open this project:

Procedure

  1. Click the list icon () beside the Projects item in the left-hand navigation menu.
  2. Enter refinement-project (or any substring of that project name) in the Search box
  3. Click Search to display all matching projects in the Lookup list.
  4. Select the refinement-project entry to open the main screen for that project.

The project opens, as shown in Figure 1.

  8. Set the value of the Enable semantic expansion variable to true
  9. Add ontolection-english-spelling-variations to the Query expansion ontolections field.

Semantic expansion will enable automatic and manual expansion of the original query with synonyms and other related terms previously imported into an ontolection.

  10. Scroll back to the top of the screen
  11. Click OK in the upper right-hand portion of the screen.

This saves all of the current changes and exits editing mode.

Tip: When editing multiple changes on a given screen in the Watson Explorer Engine administration tool, you may want to save them incrementally by scrolling back to the top of the screen and clicking Apply in the upper right-hand portion of the screen. This saves the current set of changes without exiting edit mode.
