Checklist of administrator tasks on Linux and UNIX systems

Post-installation tasks for administrators on Linux and UNIX systems are required to configure ClearQuest® server and client components hosted on these platforms.
Depending on which ClearQuest components are installed and configured, Linux and UNIX systems can provide these ClearQuest services:
Note: You can also host the database management systems for your ClearQuest deployment on the Linux and UNIX platform. For more information, see Plan your Rational ClearQuest database set architecture.
On a Linux or UNIX host, you can administer only Rational ClearQuest MultiSite and Rational ClearQuest Web server and web application. You must administer other ClearQuest components such as ClearQuest Administrative Tools and the ClearQuest Designer from the Windows administrative host.

Depending on ClearQuest services that the Linux or UNIX host is providing, complete the tasks in Table 1.

 1  From the Windows administrative host, configure the Rational ClearQuest schema repository and user databases for use by the Rational ClearQuest Web client and the Rational ClearQuest Client.

This task must be completed before deploying ClearQuest to users.

The Rational ClearQuest Web server can be deployed on one or more hosts.
