Getting started
You use the web-based Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to administer the FileNet® P8 domains, sites, object stores, and other objects in your system.
- Starting the administration console
You start the administration console from a web browser. - Changing the language and locale settings on the administration console
By default, the administration console uses the language that is set in your web browser settings. You can override the default behavior by changing the language of the administration console. This setting changes the language of the text in the administration console but does not change the language of the documents in the application. - Updating the base documentation URL for the FileNet P8 domain
When you create a FileNet domain, you must specify the base URL for the FileNet P8 documentation. The base URL identifies the base web address for the FileNet P8 documentation website and tells the various FileNet P8 applications where to start looking for the context-sensitive help topic. If you later change the URL to the documentation, you must update the base documentation URL for each FileNet P8 domain. - Resetting message confirmation prompts
You can receive a number of message prompts when you use the administration console. Some of these messages give you the option: Do not display this message again. If you select this option, you can later reset it by accessing the privacy settings for your browser. - Limiting administrative access
You can restrict the access that users or groups have to Administration Console for Content Platform Engine at the domain and object store levels. The access that users have to a domain or object store is determined by the access rights that administrators assign to users. - Configuring the administration console as an IBM Content Navigator desktop feature
You can run the administration console for Content Platform Engine from IBM Content Navigator by configuring it as a feature on an IBM Content Navigator desktop. - Downloading API components
You can use the administration console to download API components. You can use these API components to build version-compatibility checks and automatic updates into client applications that use the Content Engine Java™ API or Process Engine Java API.
