Viewing log, trace, and console data for a job

You can view log, trace, and console files for a job in the Streams Explorer view.

1. To obtain the logs for a job:
   1. Expand the Streams Jobs folder.
   2. Right-click the job for which you want to view the logs and click Get Job Logs. This option downloads and saves all the processing element (PE) log, trace, and console files for the job to the StreamsStudioLogs project. The directory structure that is used to store the logs is instanceid/jobs/jobid. Each log is labeled as job:jobid.pe:peid.log type. You can view the downloaded log files in the Console view.
2. To view the logs for a PE or an operator, first navigate to the associated job and open its folder. For example, Streams Jobs> job >Goto job
3. To view the logs for a PE, right-click the PE and select any of the Show PE Console, Show PE Trace, or Show PE Log options. The information is displayed in the Console view.
4. To view logs for an operator, right-click the operator and select any of the Show Operator Trace or Show Operator Log options. The information is displayed in the Console view.
