Opening log and trace files in the Console view

You can view the contents of the log and trace files in the Console view in Streams Studio. Streams Studio downloads and saves log and trace files from an IBM® Streams instance in the StreamsStudioLogs project. The files are organized in the instanceid/jobs/jobid and instanceid/hosts/hostid folder structure.

To open a log or a trace file in the Console view:

1. In the Project Explorer view, expand the StreamsStudioLogs project, and navigate to the folder that contains the file that you want to open.
2. Right-click the file, and then click Show in Console. The Console view can have more than one open file. To select a different file, on the toolbar, click the arrow next to the Display Selected Console icon and select a log file.
3. To remove a file from the Console view, click the X icon on the toolbar. The file is removed from the Console view; however, the file is still available in the StreamsStudioLogs project, and you can open the file again in the Console view.
