PM08812: TEST CONNECTION FAILS WHEN A WEBSPHERE VARIABLE IS USED IN THE DATA SOURCE URL VALUE

Error description

The Test Connection will fail when a WebSphere variable is
included in the URL field of a data source.  For example,
suppose a WebSphere variable is defined as follows:

Name:  ORACLE_DB
Value:  WASHost1:1521:WASdatabase


If the URL value on a data source includes the above variable,
the Test Connection will fail because the variable will not be
expanded:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@${ORACLE_DB}


The failure may generate the following Unknown Host error:

Replace the variable in the URL with the actual value

Problem conclusion

The problem has been fixed by expanding the WebSphere variable
during Test Connection.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.11.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
