These recommendations are based upon your system already having installed the most current Cumulative PTF Package and HIPER PTF Group.

The IBM i Global Support Center recommends installing the PTF's listed below for corrective service and preventative maintenance. If a problem persists after the recommended fixes have been installed, the support engineers can more efficiently diagnose the issue.

IOP-Less Environment PTFs
The 2805, 6808, 2793 and 576C modems can operate in an IOP-less environment. In addition to any Facsimile Support related PTFs, the latest TCP/IP Group PTF, SF99367, should also be applied.

NOTE: Several of the IOP-less environment PTFs require an IPL to apply. You should read the cover letters to determine if an IPL is needed. For those PTFs that can be applied immediate or delayed, the fax line must be reset in order to load the code on to the modem. Follow this process for loading and applying the PTF(s), and for resetting the fax line(s):
- ENDFAXSPT FAXD(*ALL) ENHSRV(*YES)
- VRYCFG CFGOBJ(FaxLineName) CFGTYPE(*LIN) STATUS(*OFF)
- Load and apply the PTF(s)
- VRYCFG CFGOBJ(FaxLineName) CFGTYPE(*LIN) STATUS(*ON) RESET(*YES)
**Repeat for all fax lines - STRFAXSPT FAXD(FaxDescription) ENHSRV(*YES)
