The physical storage capacity for the DS8000 is installed in fixed increments that are called drive sets and drive sets. A drive set contains 16 DDMs, all of which have the same capacity and the same rotational speed. Nearline drives are available in half sets (8) or full sets (16) of disk drives or DDMs. Both High Performance and High Capacity drives are available in sets of 16. The available drive options provide industry-class capacity and performance to address a wide range of business requirements.
