IBM® Workload Scheduler V10.1 Fix Pack 6 was formally tested by using WebSphere Application Server Liberty Base 25.0.0.4.

Updated OpenSSL libraries

IBM Workload Scheduler V10.1 Fix Pack 6 has been updated with OpenSSL libraries version to 1.1.1.25 (means 1.1.1zb).

OpenJDK Runtime Environment

IJ51044 The error "EQQY728E REQUEST UNLOCK TO RESOURCE CSR. A DEQ ON THE KEY VALUE FAILED WITH RETURN CODE 8" is encountered.
IJ51072 The "Export Settings" feature in Dynamic Workload Console incorrectly includes partial data from custom dashboards.
IJ51132 The message "CWWKS4001I THE SECURITY TOKEN CANNOT BE VALIDATED" is appearing in the trace.log file.
IJ51256 An incorrect dependency is being displayed in the Workload Designer window within Dynamic Workload Console.
IJ51402 The Dynamic Workload Console needs to provide a mechanism to dismiss the "Loading items..." modal error condition, likely when it persists unexpectedly.
IJ51688 Z connector issue: via REST API, only the first variable is resolved correctly.
IJ51755 The Dynamic Workload Console enforces a display limit of 250 for the Security Domain.
IJ51814 When defining or editing job streams or jobs, any changes made and saved are immediately reverted back to their previous state.
IJ51970 The offset defined in a run cycle is not being reflected or applied correctly.
IJ52045 Changes made to a Datasource job stream within the Dynamic Workload Console are not being saved or persisted.
IJ52315 The "Discard Changes" button is not functioning correctly within the Dynamic Workload Console V10.1.
IJ52318 When viewing job streams and jobs using the Workload Designer, the display truncates job names to a maximum of 22 characters, potentially making it difficult to identify jobs.
IJ52359 The Dynamic Workload Console is displaying the word 'UNDEFINED' in place of some job names.
IJ52361 Issue affecting the event options when creating a new event rule in Dynamic Workload Console.
IJ52877 Job stream definitions are not being displayed correctly within the Dynamic Workload Console.
IJ53054 IBM Workload Scheduler is storing user credentials in plain text, which represents a security vulnerability (CVE-2024-49351).
IJ53058 Impossibility to view more than 250 operator messages within the system.
IJ53218 Security vulnerabilities identified within the Dynamic Workload Console application.
IJ53387 The system is accepting start time as 00:01 AM, but not accepting start time as 00:00 AM.
IJ53403 In Dynamic Workload Console V9.5 Fix Pack 5, with the operating system language set to Japanese (ja_JP.UTF8), an "Unparseable date" warning appears when attempting to input a valid date in an event rule.
IJ53656 Encountering a blank page while editing event rules when using a custom event plug-in that was not being parsed correctly by the system's parser.
IJ53710 When launching into context within the Dynamic Workload Console, the engine name is required to be encrypted for security purposes.
IJ53741 Sorting functionality is not working correctly for certain fields under the Resource and Jobs sections within the Dynamic Workload Console.
IJ53987 Impossibility to submit a job stream with a recovery job from the Dynamic Workload Console if a modification is made before submitting.
IJ54112 Limitations to the option of sharing predefined reports to a group.
KB0103062 In Dynamic Workload Console V9.5 Fix Pack 6, the Workload Designer does not display the job tabs when the browser language setting is Chinese.

WA-123899 Impossibility to sort the displayed resources in Monitoring & Reporting.
WA-123920 On z/OS run cycle groups, the subset option is enabled even in view mode.
WA-123968 Errors are encountered when running the JOB_RUN_STATISTICS report using the Report CLI.
WA-124144 In Monitoring & Reporting, the "move up" and "move down" options are not working correctly for selected column fields: Workstation, Job, Critical Job, Job Stream.
WA-130268 The "Create Forecast Plan" functionality within the Dynamic Workload Console is not working when a very large date and time interval is specified.
WA-132266 On the Workstation view in Chrome browser, the "Move up" and "Move down" options for selected column fields are not working correctly, and the scrollbar behavior is also inconsistent.
WA-132289 On the Workstation view when using Google Chrome, the label for the "enable periodic refresh" option is missing.
WA-132290 When a user resizes a widget on a dashboard, the chart within the widget does not decrease in size accordingly.
WA-132504 The label for the date availability interval is duplicated within the z/OS Resource settings.
WA-132514 The search functionality is not working correctly within the message history for z/OS resources.
WA-132522 The "Name" field is missing when attempting to duplicate operator instructions for z/OS resources.
WA-132893 Impossibility to click the "Run" and "Cancel" buttons for manually created personalized reports in the "Manage personalized report" section.
WA-139225 KeyCloak does not work with the latest versions of Liberty.
WA-139424 Removing the DWC.timeout.expiration parameter.
WA-139806 In the "Manage roles" section, no warning or error message is displayed when a newly created role has a name containing special characters (e.g., ()).
WA-140017 If a user resizes a widget on a dashboard, the chart size within the widget does not decrease.
WA-140042 When deleting any field on the Advanced Properties page, an error occurs.
WA-140435 After pinning and unpinning elements and then refreshing the Dynamic Workload Console page, the sort functionality in the sidebar navigation is not working correctly.
WA-140537 Impossibility to sort the resource by its name in the Monitor Workload page.
WA-140539 Impossibility to sort the name of the prompt message text in the Monitor Workload page.
WA-140727 Impossibility to sort items in the Favorites module.
WA-140978 Event rule is not showing any error after entering wrong details.

Known limitations and workarounds

The following are software limitations and workarounds that affect Dynamic Workload Console version 10.1.0 Fix Pack 6.

Installations on Linux S390 requiring a WebSphere Application Server Liberty version equal or prior to 2025.0.0.01
When installing IBM Workload Scheduler on Linux S390 operative systems, you must use a WebSphere Application Server Liberty version that is equal or prior to 2025.0.0.01.

Enable Periodic Refresh value is not displayed for workstations in Monitor Workload page when using Google Chrome.

When editing a workstation query in Monitor Workload page, the Enable Periodic Refresh value is not displayed if you are using Google Chrome.
Workaround
To avoid the issue, you can perform the following workaround:
  1. Open the Monitor Workload page and select Workstation from the drop down menu.
  2. Click the Run button.
  3. Enable the automatic refresh of the results by clicking on the Set auto-refresh button.
  4. Specify a time for the refresh, and then click the Continue button.

Issue when restarting the POD on a Kubernetes-based environment.
When restarting the Dynamic Workload Console POD on a Kubernetes-based environment, an issue occurs and the Dynamic Workload Console url cannot be reached anymore.
Workaround
To overcome the issue, perform the following steps:
  1. Delete the PVC by running the command below:
    kubectl delete pvc data-<releasename>-waconsole-<releasename>-waconsole-0 -n <namespace>
  2. Delete the POD by running the command below:
    kubectl delete pod <releasename>-waconsole-0 -n <namespace>
You can completely avoid the issue by using a version of the Dynamic Workload Console that is at least 10.2.2.

Installing the Fix Pack

This section describes how to apply Fix Pack 6 to Dynamic Workload Console.

Before starting the installation, verify that:
  • The Dynamic Workload Console is active.
  • No user is connected to the Dynamic Workload Console to prevent the data related to their working session from being lost.
Installation Notes
Read this section thoroughly before installing this Fix Pack.

  • Before installing the Fix Pack, ensure you have installed the required prerequisite software. To obtain the latest information about software requirements for IBM Workload Scheduler, run the Detailed Software Requirements report and browse to the relevant section.
  • Supported WebSphere Application Server Liberty Base versions
    The formal test phase was performed using WebSphere® Liberty 25.0.0.4.
  • On UNIX systems only: Before installing either the Dynamic Workload Console version 9.5 or this Fix Pack, make sure that umask is set to 022. To verify that umask is set to the correct value, from a command prompt, run the umask command. If the value is different from 022, modify it by running the command:
    umask 022
Interoperability notes
Dynamic Workload Console V10.1 Fix Pack 6 supports all product versions indicated in the Dynamic Workload Console version 10.1 Release Notes which can be accessed at the following link: Dynamic Workload Console Version 10.1 Release Notes.
Installation methods
When you install the Fix Pack, the installation path varies depending on the version level you have currently installed:

If necessary, you can also return to a previous product version level, as described in Returning the Dynamic Workload Console to a previous product version level.

Disk space requirements

Before starting the Fix Pack installation, ensure that you have the following space available in the file system. The values indicated in the table show the disk space required by the Dynamic Workload Console alone. For the disk space required by other components, see the relevant documentation.

To obtain the latest information about permanent disk space requirements when installing IBM Workload Scheduler on supported operating systems, run the Hardware requirements report and click on the relevant operating system link

Note: In addition to the above disk space, the installation requires further 579 MB on /usr file system.

If the installation fails because of lack of free disk space, you must stop the installation, free space on your disk, and start the installation again.
