APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
VPN policy filters that contain a port range are not loaded.
Additionally, as a VPN responder, connections using a port range
may not be be accepted, with MSGTCP870C "Proposal not accepted"
appearing in the QTOKVPNIK2 job log.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE73655 :
-----------------------------
For the first fix, when preparing to load the VPN, the use of
port ranges increased the size necessary to store the VPN
connection. In situations when the VPN port ranges are being
used along with other VPN traffic qualifiers (protocol, local
and remote IP addresses), the size might be larger than the
allocated buffer size, which can result in unpredictable
failures during the rules loading. The size of the buffer has
been increased to allow use of the port range along with all
other VPN traffic qualifiers.

For the second fix, the port range configured for the VPN
connection was not set in the policy database used by the VPN
responder. The correct port range will now be included. If any
existing connections are configured with a port range, the VPN
policy rules must be deactivated and then reactivated to update
the policy database.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE73655 :
--------------------------------
None.
