APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
It is important to keep all systems in a BRMS network at the
same level of BRMS PTFs.

Fixes included in this PTF may reference enhancements. More
information on these enhancements can be found on the BRMS wiki:
ibm.biz/ibmi-brms

Fixes in this PTF:
1. In 7.2 and later, ENDOPT(*UNLOAD) does not eject media for
optical devices.
2. In 7.2 and later, after running STRMNTBRM for backups using
the cloud retain media option, cloud restores fail with
MSGCPD4076 and MSGCPF3780.
3. In 7.2 and later, SAVSYSBRM using parameter DEV(*MEDCLS)
fails with message MSGCPD0078.
4. In 7.2 and later, performing a second backup to auto virtual
tape after running a parallel backups using auto virtual tape
media policy QAVVRTTAP and DUPMEDBRM of those virtual tapes may
produce a loop in the second backup.
5. In 7.2 and later, copying a control group to the same name on
the local systems with overwrite *YES incorrectly clears the
control group entries.
6. In 7.2 and later, BRMS changed the sync job to reduce the
amount of time there are locks on the networked related files to
help prevent locks while running STRMNTBRM with parameter
RGZBRMDB(*YES).
7. In 7.2 and later, BRMS has been enhanced to allow the
following values for IFS Backup Control Group Entries on the
Save While Active attribute: *ALWCKWR, *ALWCKSY, *LNKALL,
*LNKALLS.
8. In 7.2 and later, doing a remote multi-library restore from a
parallel save may incorrectly skip restoring 1 of the libraries.
9. In 7.2 and later, CHGMEDBRM incorrectly allows a volume
marked for duplication to be expired by changing the expiration
date.
10. In 7.2 and later, virtual volume cloud transfers that fail
with message MSGICC0004 and MSGCPF9897 incorrectly leave the
volume in *TRF status.
11. In 7.2 and later, when the CRTLIB command defaults are
changed for the ASPDEV parameter, BRMS operations may fail with
messages MSGCPF0001, MSGCPF4102 RC6, MSGRNX1211, MSGRNQ1211, and
MSGRNQ2002.
12. In 7.2 and later, the PRTRPTBRM command using parameter
TYPE(*CLTGRPSTAT) has been enhanced with a new EXPDATE parameter
to allow reporting of active control group data.
13. In 7.2 and later, cloud backup volumes from image catalog
Q1ABRMPOOL are not being cleaned up after being transferred to
the cloud.
14. In 7.2 and later, setting secure DDM using the Node Policy
communications in BRMS Enterprise interface does not honor lower
case password characters resulting in user profiles being
incorrectly disabled.
15. In 7.2 and later, BRMS was ending control groups with
message MSGBRM10A1 if a *SPL list saved a single empty *OUTQ.
16. In 7.2 and later, the PRTRPTBRM command using parameter
TYPE(*CLTGRPSTAT) output report has been enhanced to show if
encryption was used during the backup of any control group
entries.
17. In 7.2 and later, option 4 (Remove) does not work for
WRKPCYBRM *SYS Option 4 (Change network group) when the system
is in restricted state.
18. In 7.2 and later, when backing up *SPL lists messages
MSGCPC3701 and MSGCPI6705 are not added to the BRMS log.
19. In 7.2 and later, viewing details for BRMS web GUI failed
operations may list message MSGCPF2457 for BRMS messages instead
of the correct BRMS message text.
20. In 7.2 and later, RSTLIBBRM and RSTOBJBRM with a SAVASP()
parameter value of an IASP name that does not exist on the
system incorrectly fails with MSGBRM2112.
21. In 7.2 and later, when the Q1ACHKRSIZ to check the restore
size is enabled, spooled file restores may fail with message
MSGBRM3D1B.
22. In 7.2 and later, changes were made in the BRMS recovery
report (QP1ARCY) to streamline the required recovery steps.

Enable the BRMS plug-in for System i Navigator Windows/OS
client.
1) Close the System i Navigator application.
2) Open a Windows Command Prompt screen.
3) Enter the following command:
cwbinplg /REMOVE=IBM.BRMSPlugin
4) On the client/PC, start the iSeries Navigator.
5) Use the System i Navigator "Install Options->Install
Plug-in"
action. This action is available from the main System i
Navigator "File" menu and the "My Connections" folder
context/pop-up menu.  When prompted for the iSeries system
to install from, select the iSeries that has the new BRMS
PTF installed.

All BRMS jobs must be ended before applying this ptf.

Note: When loading BRMS PTFs, the system needs to be out of
FlashCopy mode for the PTF to apply.
To verify the FlashCopy status of a system is *END, enter the
following command:
CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('FLSSYSSTS ' '*DISPLAY')

After the BRMS PTF is installed, do the following to enable the
BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator for i5/OS
(web browser) or System i Navigator windows client.

Enable the BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator
for i5/OS.

Note:  ending the http admin servers may affect other non-BRMS
users.
From System i:
1. Enter the command to end the http admin servers:
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)
2. Wait for the http admin server jobs to end or terminate
them.
Use command:  WRKACTJOB SBS(QHTTPSVR)
3. Restart the http admin servers:
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)
