APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Two problems were reported with transforming AFPDS spooled files
with DBCS text.
1) When raster fonts from the 5761-FN1 product were embedded in
the spooled file, a slight horizontal shift is noticed between
lines, especially when one line had many more space characters
than the other.
2) When the QSYS/QCTXPDFMB2 *WSCST object was specified to map
these raster fonts to PDF reference fonts, rather than embedding
them, all the lines were aligned horizontally.  However, DBCS
text fields that followed SBCS text fields were shifted to the
right, as if extra space characters were present.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE64780 :

The font metric algorithms were modified to correct the
character placement problems reported

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE64780 :
--------------------------------
Change application to use the AFP DBCS outline fonts shipped in
the IBM AFP Font Collection for i, v3 (5733-B45) when fonts are
embedded within the PDF. This product provide migration coded
fonts to assist in converting applications from raster fonts to
outline fonts.


DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE64911 :
-----------------------------------------------
When a large spooled file that includes an overlay or image on
every page is transformed to PDF, the TS1 transform fails with
message CPFCE06 RC1. The transform issues internal message
FUY0451- Memory allocation failure.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE64911 :
-----------------------------
The TS1 transform estimates whether the PDF output can be built
is allocated memory based on the size of the input file.  When
an overlay containing an image is included on every page, this
estimate proves inaccurate, and the transform is unable to
allocate enough memory to complete the transform.  With this
fix, customers can edit the configuration file
/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/TransformServices/afp2pdf/bin/afp2pdf.cf
g and remove the comment (#) in front of the
DISABLE_MEMSTREAM=TRUE flag to force the transform to store the
temporary output in a stream file instead.  This allows the
transformation to complete successfully.
