APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
It is important to keep all systems in a BRMS network at the
same level of BRMS PTFs.
Fixes included in this PTF may reference enhancements. More
information on these enhancements can be found on the BRMS web
page:
www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/brms
Additionally also review the media web page:
www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/media

Fixes in this PTF:
1. In 7.1 and later, BRMS has been enhanced to support LTO 7
tape drives.
2. In 7.1 and later, when objects are restored using option
7=Restore on the Work with Media Information (WRKMEDIBRM)
command, the restore may fail with messages MSGCPD0033 and
MSGCPF0006.
3. In 7.1 and later, the Start Maintenance for BRM (STRMNTBRM)
command has been enhanced to add the BRMS exit program to Media
and Storage Extensions (MSE) if it is not already registered.
4. In 7.1 and later, when a Prompt button is clicked to change
command parameters in the BRMS GUI client, it may not work.
5. In 7.2 and later, when the BRMS GUI client is used to update
an archive control group, it may fail with invalid value -15.
6. In 7.1 and later, recovery reports (QP1ARCY) created with the
Start Recovery using BRM (STRRCYBRM) command may contain
incorrect media information for parallel saves of Domino
objects.
7. In 7.1 and later, after a volume that is part of a set has
been expired using the Change Media using BRM (CHGMEDBRM)
command or the Start Maintenance for BRM (STRMNTBRM) command,
the volume sequences of other volumes in the media set may be
incorrect.
8. In 7.1 and later, when system objects are saved using the
Save System using BRM (SAVSYSBRM) or a *SAVSYS control group
entry and the save spans multiple volumes, recovery reports
(QP1ARCY) created with the Start Recovery using BRM (STRRCYBRM)
command will only contain the first volume of the save.
9. In 7.2, movement reports (QP1AVMS) incorrectly contain a date
in the Expiration Date and Move Date fields when the volume
being moved uses retention type versions.
10. N/A.
11. N/A.
12. N/A.
13. N/A.
14. N/A.
15. In 7.1 and later, the severity of messages in the BRMS log
may not be set to 60 when data area QUSRBRM/Q1AKEEP60 exists.
16. In 7.1 and later, during a backup, if a volume can not be
loaded and message MSGCPF6751 is sent, BRMS has been enhanced to
handle the message and the backup will attempt to use other
media to complete the backup.
17. In 7.1 and later, if a backup completes with more than
999,999 objects saved or 999,999 objects not saved, the save
history may not synchronize correctly with other systems in the
BRMS network.
18. In 7.1 and later, the Display Log for BRM (DSPLOGBRM)
command may fail with message MSGCPF5218.
19. N/A.
20. In 7.1 and later, the Change Media using BRM (CHGMEDBRM)
command, Work with Media using BRM (WRKMEDBRM) command option 2
and BRMS GUI client incorrectly allow the expiration date to be
changed for volumes that use versions for expiration.
21. In 7.2, the BRMS GUI client incorrectly displays Versioned
for the Volume Properties Expiration field when a volume has an
expiration date in the year 2039.
22. In 7.2, the Change Media using BRM (CHGMEDBRM) command does
not display '*VER nnn' format for volumes that have a Retention
type of Versions.
23. In 7.1 and later, BRMS email notifications have been
enhanced to support a user specified 'from address' for emails.

24. In 7.1 and later, the Initialize BRMS (INZBRM) command with
*VFYENT (7.1 and later), *VFYNET or *VFYSYS specified for the
Option (OPTION) parameter has been enhanced to include
verification of BRMS communications running under user profile
QBRMS.

fail with message MSGMCH1211 if the system is using CCSID 2979
for a Russian language.
26. In 7.1 and later, performance of save operations to large
tape sets has been improved.
27. In 7.1 and later, BRMS has been enhanced to support saving
more than a million document library objects (DLO).
28. In 7.1 and later, BRMS backups may incorrectly fail with
message MSGBRM148A when the system is not in a BRMS network.
29. In 7.1 and later, BRMS operations that output to tape media
may incorrectly fail with messages MSGBRM1516 and MSGCPF510B.
30. In 7.2, the Start Backup using BRM (STRBKUBRM) command may
incorrectly fail with message MSGCPD0078.
31. In 7.1 and later, if the Work with Media using BRM
(WRKMEDBRM) command is run and option 2 is specified to change
the Expiration date (EXPDATE) parameter, the expiration date may
not be changed for all of the saved history that uses the
volumes.
32. In 7.1 and later, after running the Duplicate Media using
BRM (DUPMEDBRM) command, native saves that are run in the same
job may fail with message MSGBRM1484.
33. In 7.2 and later, if the job's local data area (*LDA) is set
by the user before running the Save Object using BRM (SAVOBJBRM)
or Save Library using BRM (SAVLIBBRM) commands, the save may
fail with message MSGCPF3C81 or MSGCPI374D.
