APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
It is important to keep all systems in a BRMS network at the
same level of BRMS PTFs.
Fixes included in this PTF may reference enhancements. More
information on these enhancements can be found on the BRMS web
page:
www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/brms
Additionally also review the media web page:
www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/media

Fixes in this PTF:
1. N/A.
2. In 6.1 and later, if there are no saved items from
independent auxiliary storage pools (IASP) but there are saved
items for domino backups, the Start Recovery using BRM
(STRRCYBRM) command does not print the "Recover Authorization
Information" step before the "Recover Authorization Information"
step in the recovery report (QP1ARCY) and message MSGLNT020A may
be in the job log.
3. In 6.1 and later, after the Extract Media Information
(EXTMEDIBRM) command is run to create a BRMS saved item,
multiple saved items may be displayed for the same tape sequence
number when the Work Media Information using BRM (WRKMEDIBRM)
command is run.
4. In 6.1 and later, if the Work Policy using BRM (WRKPCYBRM)
command is run with *SYS specified for the Policy type (TYPE)
parameter and then option 1 is selected to Display or Change
system policy, the values specified for the BRMS submitted jobs
section are not validated.
5. In 6.1 and later, if the Work Policy using BRM (WRKPCYBRM)
command is run with *SYS specified for the Policy type (TYPE)
parameter and then option 1 is selected to Display or Change
system policy, fields may be incorrectly highlighted as invalid
and the page up key may not work.
6. In 6.1 and later, the Work with Media using BRM (WRKMEDBRM)
command with a number-of-days specified for the Ending creation
date field of the Select creation date (SLTCRTDATE) parameter
selects incorrect volumes.
7. In 6.1 and later, when volume movement is being verified
using the Verify Moves using BRM (VFYMOVBRM) command, the media
location may incorrectly be set to *NONE.
8. In 6.1 and later, BRMS operations may fail with message
MSGMCH3601.
9. In 6.1 and later, if the recovery policy has *YES specified
for the Restore journal receivers value or *APPLY/*REMOVE is
specified for the Apply option value on the Apply journaled
changes field, the restore may fail with message MSGMCH0603.
10. In 6.1 and later, if an incorrect name is specified for the
independent auxiliary storage pool (IASP) parameter when program
Q1AOLD is called for the FLASHTIME function, the BRMS
synchronization job (QBRMSYNC) may incorrectly wait for a
response to inquiry message MSGRNQ0112.
11. In 6.1 and later, the media balance report (QP1AMBL) created
by running the Start Media Balancing for BRM (STRBALBRM) command
may not correct.
12. In 6.1 and later, when the Start Backup using BRM
(STRBKUBRM) command is run for a control group that contains an
*ALLDTCRCV entry, detached journal receivers that have
previously been saved may be incorrectly saved again.
13. In 6.1 and later, when the Start Backup using BRM
(STRBKUBRM) command is run for a control group that contains an
*IBM entry with an independent auxiliary storage pools (IASP)
specified for the ASP Device field, the backup of the *IBM entry
may fail with message MSGCPF387A and the STRBKUBRM may fail with
message MSGFBRM1820.
14. In 7.1 and later, the Enterprise Backup Status panel will
show a maximum of 100 entries.
15. In 6.1 and later, after a BRMS PTF is applied, parameter
defaults that have been changed for the Duplicate Media using
BRM (DUPMEDBRM) command in QSYS will be lost.
16. In 6.1 and later, the Start Recovery using BRM (STRRCYBRM)
or Start Maintenance for BRM (STRMNTBRM) commands may post
message MSGCPF218C in the job log if an independent auxiliary
storage pool (IASP) of type *UDFS exists on the system.
17. In 6.1 and later, when the Duplicate Media using BRM
(DUPMEDBRM) command is run to duplicate parallel media sets with
*END specified for the To sequence number (TOSEQNBR) parameter,
BRMS may duplicate each parallel media file to a single volume
rather than append to separate volumes.
18. In 6.1 and later, when the Duplicate Media using BRM
(DUPMEDBRM) command is run to do remote duplication and *END is
specified for the To sequence number (TOSEQNBR) parameter,
duplication may fail with message MSGBRM148A.
19. In 6.1 and later, BRMS network synchronization may be
incorrect if the system name is less than 8 characters.
20. In 7.2 and later, the BRMS Enterprise subsystem Q1ABRMENT is
started even if BRMS Enterprise is not being used.
