APAR Error Description / Circumvention

System i Navigator and the AFP Workbench Viewer are used to
display *AFPDS spooled files on an IBM i system that reference
AFP resources (such as overlays and page segments) so the end
users can reprint a few pages of their reports remotely. This
works okay for smaller spooled files, but users are finding that
larger spooled files will result in the Network Print host
server job (QNPSERVS) failing with MSGMCH0601 and the AFP
Workbench Viewer failing with a CWBPRT32 error that states:

CWBNP1012 - The following error occurred while communicating
with job xxxxxx/QUSER/QNPSERVS on system XXXXXXXX... MCH3601 -
Pointer not set for location referenced.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE60177 :

Special Instructions


If this PTF is applied or removed in immediate mode, you should first
end the network print servers using following commands:
> ENDHOSTSVR SERVER(*NETPRT)
> ENDPJ SBS(QUSRWRK) PGM(QSYS/QNPSERVS) OPTION(*IMMED)

The PTF will take affect when the servers are restarted with:
> STRHOSTSVR SERVER(*NETPRT)
