APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
Fixes in this PTF:
1. N/A.
2. In V6R1 and above, when using BRMS GUI client to restore
integrated file system (IFS) objects, there is no completion
information in the BRMS log or job log.
3. In V6R1 and above, running the Initialize BRMS (INZBRM)
command, with *RUNPRDINZ specified for the Option (OPTION)
parameter, in two different jobs at the same time may cause one
of the commands to fail with MSGBRM40A5.
4. In V6R1 and above, if the BRMS GUI client is used to Manage
Device Connections, running the Move Media using BRM (MOVMEDBRM)
command may cause the location of media to be incorrect on some
systems in the BRMS network.
5. In V6R1 and above, BRMS has been enhanced to re-mount file
systems after a control group has finished doing backups if the
Start Backup using BRM (STRBKUBRM) command is run using a
control group that has *YES specified for Unmount user-defined
file systems.
6. In V6R1 and above, if the Start Backup using BRM (STRBKUBRM)
command is run with *CTLSBS specified for the Submit to batch
(SBMJOB) parameter, the backup may fail with MSGCPD0085 and
MSGCPF0001 when it attempts to add job queue entry Q1ACTLSBS to
the job queue for the controlling subsystem.
7. In 7.2, when using the BRMS GUI client, clicking Enterprise
Services may cause a ClassNotFoundException error.
8. In 7.2, when using the BRMS GUI client to move a volume, the
user is not allowed to retry the operation by entering new
values.
9. In 7.2, when using the BRMS GUI client to move a volume, if
Home location is selected for the Storage location field, the
operation will fail.
10. In 7.2, when using the BRMS GUI client to connect to a
Target system that is at a release prior to 7.2, automatic
refresh is not supported but the Auto refresh frequency field is
displayed on the Enterprise Hub Center panel.
11. In 7.2, performance of the installation of 5770BR1 LPP has
been improved.
12. In 7.2, when using the BRMS GUI client to Change Omits for a
control group entry, a value can not be entered for the
Attribute field.
13. In 7.2, when using the backup and archive control group
wizards in the BRMS GUI client, resolved values are not
displayed for fields that refer to the Backup, Archive and/or
System Policy.
14. In 7.2, when using the BRMS GUI client to display the
archive control group properties, the Archive criteria tab does
not display the correct value for the Disk Pool Threshold field.
15. In 7.2, after upgrading BRMS, control groups will have the
Asynchronous bring field incorrectly set to *NO instead of
*BKUPCY.
16. In 7.2, the Initialize BRMS (INZBRM) command incorrectly
starts BRMS subsytems when the system is in restricted state.
17. In V6R1 and above, when the Monitor Save While Active
(MONSWABRM) command is used to monitor other BRMS save commands,
the other commands may not use the correct value for the Save
active message queue (SAVACTMSGQ) parameter.
18. In V6R1 and above, performance of the Add List Entry
(Q1AADDLSTE) API has been improved when it is used to append
entries to a BRMS link list.
19. In V6R1 and above, when a restore uses the From system
(FROMSYS) parameter, the restore may incorrectly try to use
alternate volumes which causes the restore to fail with various
messages, including MSGBRM4126 and MSGBRM4123.
20. In V6R1 and above, when the Work with Link Information
(WRKLNKBRM) or Work with Media Information (WRKMEDIBRM) command
is used to work with saved integrated file system (IFS) objects,
the complete list of objects may not be displayed and message
MSGCPDA093 may be in the job log.
21. In V6R1 and above, the BRMS GUI client may not use Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) for BRMS communications.
22. In V6R1 and above, when the Start Maintenance for BRM
(STRMNTBRM) command is run after a BRMS backup, automatic
duplication may fail with message MSGBRM1944.
23. In V6R1 and above, when running the Start Backup using BRM
(STRBKUBRM) command for a control group that has the Save Domino
Server using BRMS (SAVDOMBRM) command in an *EXIT entry, if
inquiry message MSGBRM148A is sent to the job and the user
responds with 'C' to Cancel, the STRBKUBRM will continue to the
next backup instead of ending.
24. In V6R1 and above, when running the Start Backup using BRM
(STRBKUBRM) command for a control group that has an *ALLUSR
entry with Sync ID specified, the STRBKUBRM may fail with
message MSGCPF37BE.
25. In V6R1 and above, the BRMS network synchronization job,
QBRMSYNC, may go into message wait (MSGW) state while waiting
for a response to inquiry message MSGCPF4528.
26. In V6R1 and above, when the Duplicate Media using BRM
(DUPMEDBRM) command duplicates multiple volumes using a tape
library, it may not release the tape drive resources until the
DUPMEDBRM command finishes. This may cause MSGBRM1033 in other
jobs trying to use the same tape library during the duplication.
27. In V6R1 and above, when a volume contains a QFILE saved
item, the volume is expired and a save uses the volume before
the Start Maintenance for BRM (STRMNTBRM) command is run, the
QFILE saved item may not be removed from BRMS save history.
28. In V6R1 and above, the default size for BRMS flight
recorders is incorrectly set to 500MB when it should 50MB.
29. N/A.
30. In 7.1 and above, when an Enterprise hub is not in a BRMS
network, scheduled reports do not run.
31. In V6R1 and above, saved items created using a save file
media policy that has *YES specified for the Encrypt Data field,
incorrectly indicates the saved data is encrypted. Specifying
*YES for the Encrypt Data field should only cause data written
to tape by a subsequent call to the Save Save Files using BRM
(SAVSAVFBRM) command to be encrypt the saved data.
Additionally, data that cannot be saved using software
encryption, such as saves for *SAVSYS, *IBM, *SAVSECDTA, *SAVCFG
or Q* control group entries, incorrectly allow values to be
specified for the Encrypt Data field.
32. In V6R1 and above, when * is specified for the Output
(OUTPUT) parameter on the Display Log for BRM (DSPLOGBRM)
command, message MSGCPF9999 is not displayed correctly.
Additionally, when *PRINT is specified for the OUTPUT parameter
on the DSPLOGBRM command, the output will not include message
MSGCPF9999.
33. In V6R1 and above, the BRMS GUI client may not display
message details when viewing the results of a BRMS operation.
34. In V6R1 and above, BRMS operations may fail with message
MSGCPA4060, MSGCPF4284, MSGCPF4290 or MSGCPF6772 when a volume
is being selected.
35. In 7.2, recovery reports (QP1ARCY) created using the Start
Recovery using BRM (STRRCYBRM) or Start Maintenance for BRM
(STRMNTBRM) command have been enhanced to list libraries from
independent auxiliary storage pools (IASP) that have not been
saved using BRMS.
Note: The list of libraries from IASPs that have not been saved
can be removed from the recovery report by running the following
command:
CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QUSRBRM/Q1AMISLIBS) TYPE(*CHAR)
36. In 7.1 and above, the BRMS GUI client fails with message
MSGCPF3C81 when restoring integrated file system (IFS) objects
from Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) saves.
37. In V6R1 and above, when a Saved Item that did not have
object omits is displayed using the Work with Media Information
(WRKMEDIBRM) command, a * may be displayed next to the Number of
objects not saved field to indicate object omits were used
during the save.
38. In V6R1 and above, when using the Restore Object using BRM
(RSTBRM) command with *LIST specified for the Objects (OBJ)
parameter and *DAOS specified for the List (LIST) parameter, the
restore may fail with messages MSGCPD0013 and MSGCPF0001.
39. In V6R1 and above, the performance of Restore Object using
BRM (RSTBRM) command has been improved when *LIST is specified
for the Objects (OBJ) parameter and *DAOS is specified for the
List (LIST) parameter.
40. In V6R1 and above, when running Duplicate Media using BRM
(DUPMEDBRM) with EXPDATE(*FROMVOL), the expiration date is
incorrectly set to *PERM.
