APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
It is important to keep all systems in a BRMS network at the
same level of BRMS PTFs.
Fixes included in this PTF may reference enhancements. More
information on these enhancements can be found on the BRMS web
page:
www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/brms
Additionally also review the media web page:
www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/media

Fixes in this PTF:
1. In V5R4 and above, when the Display ASP Information
(DSPASPBRM) and Work with ASP Descriptions (WRKASPBRM) commands
are running at the same time in different jobs, inquiry message
MSGRNQ1218 may be sent to one of the jobs.
2. In V5R4 and above, saved item QFILE is not duplicated when
using the Duplicate Media using BRM (DUPMEDBRM) command with
parameters VOL(*SCHHST) GRPTYPE(*BKU) specified.
3. In V5R4 and above, the Add Media Library Media to BRM
(ADDMLMBRM) command may fail with MSGCPF0001, MSGCPF0006 or
MSGBRM2331.
4. In V5R4 and above, when saving to IBM i internal virtual
devices and one of the devices is locked by another job, message
MSGCPFBC4B will be posted to the job log.
5. In V5R4 and above, parallel restores or domino restores with
a remote system specified for the FROMSYS() parameter may fail
with message MSGSQL0842.
6. In V5R4 and above, when an *OBJ or *LNK list is created for
the missed object policy, it may not be populated when
maintenance is as part of the control group.
7. In V5R4 and above, MSGCPF5035 may be posted to the job log
when command Start Maintenance for BRM (STRMNTBRM) is run.
8. In V6R1 and above, message MSGMCH3402 may be posted to the
job log during backups using save while active and the Monitor
Save While Active (MONSWABRM) command. The fix for this problem
will change the MONSWABRM behavior. If you wish to use the old
behavior (where to sync them you had to have multiple message
queues when it should have been the same one), run these 2
commands:
CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QUSRBRM/Q1ASYNCMSG) TYPE(*CHAR)
CHGOBJOWN OBJ(QUSRBRM/Q1ASYNCMSG) OBJTYPE(*DTAARA) NEWOWN(QBRMS)
9. In V6R1 and above, the Initialize BRMS (INZBRM) command with
OPTION(*CHGSYSNAM) specified is not changing the system name in
the control group status file so the Print Report using BRM
(PRTRPTBRM) command may not report the correct information for
some systems.
10. In V5R4 and above, BRMS operations may hang in SIGW status.
11. In V5R4 and above, when running the Move Spooled Files using
BRM (MOVSPLFBRM) command, all the spooled files may not be moved
or may not be listed in the report.
12. In V5R4 and above, when using the Check Expired Media for
BRM (CHKEXPBRM) command with a future date specified for the
Date for save (DATE) parameter, message MSGBRM1930 will always
be posted to the job log.
13. In V6R1 and above, the 'ASP high storage threshold' field
for the retrieval policy on the 'Work with Policies using BRM
(WRKPCYBRM)' allows a value to be specified that is not correct
without indicating there is an error.
14. In V5R4 and above, if there is no full save for QUSRBRM, the
'Recover BRMS Related Media Information' section in the recovery
report may be incorrect.
15. In V6R1 and above, PRTRPTBRM with the new retention section
now supports the FROMSYS.
16. In V6R1 and above, Alpha characters not failing properly
when a capacity value in the media pool properties has alpha
character in the middle or end of the value.
17. In V5R4 and above, when document library objects (DLO) with
private authorities on user ASPs are being saved, MSGCPF5009 may
be posted to the joblog.
18. In V6R1 and above, when the command Save Object using BRM
(SAVOBJBRM) is run with a date specified for the Reference date
(REFDATE) parameter, the value may be ignored.
19. In V5R4 and above, when running CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD)
PARM('DEVUSESTS' '*NETGRP') multiple times, duplicate entries
for jobs may be created.
20. In V5R4 and above, when inquiry message like MSGBRM1033 is
answered, it is removed from job log.
21. In V7R1, domino incremental saves may fail with MSGMCH3601.
22. In V6R1 and above, the same journal receivers may be
incorrectly saved every time the Start Backup using BRM
(STRBKUBRM) command is run for a control group that contains an
*ALLDTCRCV or an *ALLCHGRCV entry.
23. In V5R4 and above, duplicate devices may be listed in the
report created when the tape library resource status tool
(DEVUSESTS) is run.
24. In V6R1 and above, support has been added to the Start
Backup using BRM (STRBKUBRM) command using a media policy that
has auto-duplication set and you wish to override the 'To media
policy' field with a different media policy. To enable a
different 'To media policy' when using the auto-duplication
function, run the following commands in the same job:
CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QTEMP/Q1ADMEDPCY) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(10)
VALUE(nnnnnnnnnn)
QSYS/CHGOBJOWN OBJ(QTEMP/Q1ADMEDPCY) OBJTYPE(*DTAARA)
NEWOWN(QBRMS)
Where nnnnnnnnnn is the media policy that will be used as the to
media policy on the auto-duplication.

25. In V6R1 and above, not able to add all available restricted
state interfaces for BRMS using BRMS GUI.
26. In V6R1 and above, when interface FRSIZE is used to set the
maximum size of the BRMS flight recorder files, the value is not
used for file '/tmp/brms/qbrms'.
27. In V5R4 and above, restoring from duplicated media may fail
with MSGCPA4268.
28. In V6R1 and above, the Restore Object using BRM (RSTBRM)
command will support restoring missing Domino Attachment and
Object Service (DAOS) objects using a stream file that was
generated by running the Domino console 'daosmgr listnlo
missing' command. The DAOS stream file can be used on the
restore by specifying *LIST for the Object (OBJ) object
parameter and *DAOS and the DAOS stream file for the List (LIST)
parameter.
29. In V5R4 and above, when running the Duplicate Media using
BRM (DUPMEDBRM) command a MSGMCH3601, MSGMCH6902, or MSGMCH6903
may occur.

30. In V6R1 and above, when printing control group status report
by Print Report using BRMS(PRTRPTBRM), some control groups may
not be in the report.
31. In V5R4 and above, the Work with Saved Objects (WRKOBJBRM)
may not show all saved objects.
32. In V7R2 and above, getting ClassNotFoundException when click
on Enterprise Services in the GUI iNav client. The auto-refresh
in the Enterprise Hub Center panel is intended to work in the
Web environment only. Therefore, Enterprise Services is not
displayed for the iNav client.
33. In V7R2 and above, when trying to move a volume using BRMS
GUI client, if values are not changed for Storage location,
Container and Days exempt from movement fields, the user is not
allowed to retry and enter new values.
34. In V7R2 and above, when trying to move a volume using BRMS
GUI client, if select "Home location" for the Storage location
field, get an error due to bad string in the move volume set
API.

release V7R1 using BRMS GUI Web Client, the Auto Refresh
frequency is displayed, but the field is no functional. Auto
refresh should not be enabled in prior to 7.2 releases.

37. In V7R2 and above the Omits Attribute field in BRMS GUI
client does not allow a value to be entered.
