APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Announcement: BRMS Enterprise allows administrators to monitor
backup operations for their BRMS systems from a central site.
See the Enterprise section of the BRMS Wiki for more information
- https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/brms
1. In V6R1 and above, the 'Exempt from move until date' field,
as seen on the WRKMEDBRM option 5 screen, is not being cleared
when data is written to an expired volume.
2. In V5R4 and above, when WRKMEDBRM option 2 or CHGMEDBRM is
run against a volume and the 'Expiration date' field is not
changed, the expiration date of saved items on that volume may
be changed.
3. In V6R1 and above, WRKMEDIBRM OUTPUT(*PRINT) may take longer
than expected.
4. In V5R4 and above, specific system synchronization for link
list saves does not work in a Flashcopy environment.
5. In V5R4 and above, reclaim media does not allow a device to
be used by other jobs when processing has completed for that
device.
6. In V5R4 and above, when data is saved to save files and then
copied to media using SAVSAVFBRM, media information may be
incorrectly removed from the BRMS network.
7. In V6R1 and above, when running a control group with a media
policy using the auto duplication function, if the 'To media
policy' field of the media policy is '*SAME' in auto-duplication
fields ('Move Policy', 'Media Class', 'Retention') are not
honored. This change also supports the FITS request
MR1113123538.
8. In V6R1 and above, BRMS has been enhanced to allow media
policies for save files to support I-ASPs 33-99.
9. In V5R4 and above, the BRMS GUI client does not allow users
to create BRMS objects with names that start with 'Q'.
10. In V5R4 and above, when running the BRMS GUI client wizard
to reclaim a spanned volume set, it may fail with MSGBRM6712.
11. In V5R4 and above, when running a save of spooled files with
retention type of versions, MSGBRM0004 is incorrectly sent.
12. In V5R4 and above, when spool files saved before V5R2 are
being restored, MSGRNX0105 and MSGRNQ0105 may be posted into the
joblog.
To enable the fix for this problem, please run STRMNTBRM.
13. In V6R1 and above, if SAVOBJBRM fails with an escape message
when it is called from a user's RPG program, the indicator on
the program call will indicate there is a failure.
14. In V5R4 and above, when a backup control group is run with
"Unmount user-defined file systems" set to '*YES', MSGCPD0032
may be incorrectly sent to the joblog.
Also, MSGBRM2330 may be incorrectly posted to the joblog when
this user runs BRMS activities.
15. When removing a volume from the BRMS inventory a function
check in Q1ARRNZ may occur on MSGQRY1911.
16. In V6R1, support multiple locations on the MOVMEDBRM
command.
17. In V5R4 and above, when using *MEDCLS for tape libraries,
BRMS may not choose the best one. We have added to the algorithm
how many expired tapes are available.  This may effect current
selection of tape devices.
18. In V5R4 and above, when using the Missed Object option in
the control group attributes, if the control group already
exists but has no entries, the missed object list will not be
added to it.
19. In V5R4 and above, a MSGCPF6708 may occur on a SAVSYSBRM
command or *SAVSYS backup item in a control group during the
backup.
20. In V6R1 and above, MSGBRM1409 is produced when using
WRKPCYBRM *MED and you add multiple standalone drives into the
"Automatic duplication" section.
21. In V6R1 and V7R1, PRTRPTBRM *PRINT does not match what
*OUTFILE produces for the save time.
22. In V5R4 and above, running backups at the same time that
append to media sets in different jobs.  The backups complete
successfully, but the WRKMEDIBRM results do not show the correct
saved information.
23. In V5R4 and above, some exceptions are not added into the
BRMS log. Examples: MSGCPF3771 and MSGCPF3751
24. In V5R4 and above, DUPMEDBRM is being enhanced to run
duplication of media sets to multiple duplication jobs in batch.
This new function is only for to the current signed on job and
is enabled through the following old world call interface.
New old world calls to: *SET, *DISPLAY and *REMOVE
1) CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('DUPBATCH' '*SET' '2') - parameter
3 is the number of batch jobs
2) CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('DUPBATCH' '*REMOVE') - remove the
setting
3) CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('DUPBATCH' '*DISPLAY') - will
display current jobs setting
25. In V5R4 and above, BRMS backup of object list, containing
100 or more libraries results in MSGMCH1210 f/Q1ACISLIB
t/Q1ACISLIB if *NOCMTBDY is set in the control group attributes.
This will also apply to SAVLIBBRM if *NOCMTBDY is used.
26. In V5R4 and above, when concurrent backups are running and
using scratch volumes a  MSGMCH3601 may occur.
27. In V6R1 and above, add support for data area QTEMP/SRPARFMT
to force parallel-parallel saves for SAVxxxBRM commands.
28. In V6R1 and above, when running PRTRPTBRM, a MSGCPF2189
might occur indicating that the user is not authorized to
QBRM/QA1ABS.
29. In V5R4 and above, when running a backup control group with
'Run maintenance after backup' set, maintenance may not run.
30. In V5R4 and above, SAVSAVFBRM does not honor configuration
of the 'Mark history for duplication' field from the media
policy when it is '*YES'.
31. In IBM i 6.1 and above, enhance PRTRPTBRM's FROMSYS
parameter to support systems NOT in this system's BRMS network.
This will also fix the problem of going from a IBM i 7.1 system
to an IBM i 6.1 system.
32. In V5R4 and above, STRBKUBRM of a control group which is
saving data from *SYSBAS and an IASP may fail with MSGCPF6708
with an MSGSQL0519 error or SETASPGRP command may fail with
MSGFCPB8E9.
33. In V5R4 and above, when using API Q1AADDCGEO to add objects,
with special characters '+' or '/', to omit list, MSGCPF1E64 may
be posted in to joblog.
34. In V6R1 and above, when specifying *ALLDTCRCV in a control
group, MSGMCH0601 and MSGRNQ0202 may be posted in to joblog when
the control group is run.
