APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Overall BRMS statement: When running a BRMS network and the PTF
levels are not the same, the centralized media audit may
incorrectly flag media as being out of synchronization between 2
systems. We recommend having them all at the same level.
1. In V5R4 and above, when saving data to a write-protected
volume on a stand alone tape drive, the volumes listed in
MSGBRM2001 may be wrong.
2. In V5R4 and above, if a save of spool files spans volumes,
the restore of the spooled files may fail with MSGCPD8A87 and
MSGCPD8A97.
3. In V5R4 and above, when a *OUTQ object is saved with spool
files, the "Saved spooled file data" flag in media information
may be *NO.
4. In V5R4 and above, backup or restores may fail with
MSGBRM4023 with authority errors for QBRMS.
5. In V5R4 and above, if saving with a retention type of
versioning with the append option, an expired volume may be
selected when the save should have appended to an active volume
6. In V6R1 and above, when saving *IBM or *ALLUSR and using a
serial-parallel format, if not all the devices are used, it is
possible that the next parallel save might incorrectly receive
MSGBRM1483.
7. In V5R4 and above, when RSTOBJBRM is called and there are
generic names for OBJ parameter, some of the objects may fail to
be restored.
8. In V5R4 and above, when generating a recovery report with the
STRRCYBRM or STRMNTBRM command, the command may loop.
9. In V5R4 and above, when an expired volume from a different
system is used, media information of this volume may be left on
other systems.
10. In V5R4 and above, when running a backup control group
(STRBKUBRM) with attribute 'Missed object policy' set to blanks,
there may be MSGBRM4104 in the joblog.
11. In V5R4 and above, when running a backup control group that
saves *ALLUSR, QUSRBRM may be omitted.  BRMS maintenance
(STRMNTBRM) needs to be run after applying this PTF.
12. In V5R4 and above, when running a backup control group
(STRBKUBRM), MSGMCH3601 and/or MSGMCH6903 may be sent.
13. In V6R1 and above, appending an object to an object list
using the Q1AADDLSTE API may exhibit poor performance.
Note: The PTF will only affect format BOBA0100 for objects
lists. Link list performance will not be affected by this PTF.
Folder and spooled file lists are not supported by this API.
14. In V6R1 and above, when doing an incremental save of a
single library by SAVOBJBRM, message MSGCPD0083 may be in the
joblog.
15. In V5R4 and above, remote duplicates from multiple volumes
to a single volume using the QUSRBRM/Q1AALWMFDP data area may
cause MSGBRM0004 message even though the volume listed in the
message was used as the output volume.
16. In V5R4 and above, when using WRKMEDBRM option 15 a
MSGBRM4041 can occur if a user doesn't have functional authority
to the media class of the media selected.
17. In V5R4 and above, when a volume is being moved into a
container, a MSGBRM1554 message may be incorrectly posted in the
joblog.
18. In V5R4 and above, tape operations may fail with message
MSGCPF412D even though other volumes are available.
19. In V5R4 and above, when duplicating a parallel saved item
using DUPMEDBRM VOL(*SCHHST) , MSGMCH0603 and MSGRNQ0202 may be
posted in the joblog.
20. In V5R4 and above, when *ALLUSR is being saved with "save
while active" set to values other than "*NO" and "Pending record
changes" set to "*NOCMTBDY" in a control group, the running of
the control group may end abnormally with MSGCPF37AC.
21. In V5R4 and above, when the attribute 'Missed object policy'
for a control group is blanks, MSGBRM1245 is posted but the
blanks are allowed.
22. In V7R1 and above, BRMS GUI web client shows an action to
view the job log for scheduled tasks. This action is not
supported and should not be displayed.
23. In V5R4 and above, BRMS does not clean up lists that are
automatically created when using the control group attribute
'Missed object policy', and are no longer used by any control
group.
24. In V5R4 and above, when reclaiming a media set, the
expiration date of the output volume may not be set correctly.
25. In V6R1 and above, saved items *IBM, *SAVSYS, *SAVSECDTA,
*SAVCFG and any other libraries beginning with the letter 'Q'
and '#' may be incorrectly encrypted when DUPMEDBRM is run.
26. In V6R1 and above, support for *ULTRIUM6 format has been
added.
27. In V6R1 and above, allow support SAVSYSBRM omitting *SYSDTA
when saving to a save file.
28. In V6R1 and above, allow support media class 'Shared media'
value of *YES for optical.
29. In V5R4 and above, the Current Bytes Written is not being
added up correctly for saves.
30. In V5R4 and above, MSGBRM1570 for libraries like QSYS*,
QRCY*, QRPL* may be posted in the joblog when maintenance is
being run
31. In V5R4, SAVSYS fails with MSGCPF414B to a D/T3494.
